CONFERENCE | Our PhD student, 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗸𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮 𝗞𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁, recently attended the 𝗔𝗹𝘇𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 ( ) in London! 🧠🇬🇧

Aliaksandra (R E C E T O X, Masaryk University & International Clinical Research Center) presented her research poster highlighting the development of a screening method that identified several existing drugs capable of binding to ApoE4—a key protein linked to Alzheimer’s disease. Among these, two promising compounds stood out by effectively blocking the protein's toxic clumping, offering potential starting points for new Alzheimer's treatments. 🔬✨

This work was supported by the Alzheimer's Association, the Czech Science Foundation, ADDIT-CE, and Horizon Europe Research Centre. 🤝

RESEARCH INTERNSHIP | It was a great pleasure to host 𝗔𝗯𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗸𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗿 𝗬𝗮𝘆𝗰𝗶 from Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Germany) at Loschmidt Laboratories! 🧪✨

Abdulkadir spent the past three weeks working with our computational protein engineering tools, and we're thrilled that his stay was productive. 🔬

We enjoyed delicious roasted sausages, meat, and cheese — but most of all, the great company and relaxed conversations with colleagues.

It was also a wonderful opportunity to spend time with our research interns at the end of their research stay, 𝗥𝗲𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘂
(BOKU University, Vienna) and 𝗔𝗯𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗸𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗿 𝗬𝗮𝘆𝗰𝗶 (Ruhr University Bochum). We were thrilled to have had them with us! ☀️

NEWS | Big congratulations to 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴-𝗟𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗻 (DTU Biosustain) on successfully defending his PhD thesis on machine learning for enzyme development, which was carried out under the supervision of Ditte Welner and our team member Stanislav Mazurenko! 🎓✨

We were thrilled to host David at Loschmidt Laboratories (Přírodovědecká fakulta Masarykovy univerzity & International Clinical Research Center) during his stay with us, and it was a pleasure collaborating with him.

CONFERENCE | Our team member, Sérgio Marques (R E C E T O X & International Clinical Research Center), attended the conference Quitel 2026 in Coimbra, Portugal, last week! 🇵🇹🎉

Sergio presented our work on CAVER, CaverDock, and Caver Web in an invited plenary lecture and an oral presentation, highlighting their applications in protein tunnel analysis and ligand transport. 🎤🧬
