THE VERY BEST RESOURCES
Our teachers are dedicated to delivering the curriculum through a variety of teaching techniques. As professionals, we are fully aware that every child has his or her own individual style of learning and therefore it makes sense that various methods are adopted by our staff to promote enthusiasm and understanding in all subjects. Special consideration has been given during the formation of the centre to include the most modern technology which can be utilised by staff and students to promote effective learning. This is furthered by our commitment to the continuous professional development of our staff members. ASPIRE's resources include a complete Wi-Fi network, the next generation of interactive whiteboard technology, an ICT suite, an all-weather sports pitch, a library, and a fully-equipped science laboratory. In 2013 we also launched our Reception and Key Stage 1 building, which is designed to UK standards.

CURRICULUM

We follow the British National Curriculum across all key stages and, where possible, introduce aspects which are of particular interest to our locality here in Cyprus. It is important that the students are able to visualise themselves as members of Europe and the wider global community. The British National Curriculum ensures progression and breadth of study in all curriculum areas and therefore we make sure that all activities and resources used are applicable and specifically produced with this in mind. Many of our textbooks give very clear guidance regarding the National Curriculum levels at which students are working. This allows children to play an active role in their own progression and, with expert guidance from their teachers, they are able to highlight and address the next step for improvement. It also provides parents with total confidence about the National Curriculum standard at which their children are working and in the event of a family’s repatriation to the UK allows the student's smooth transition back into the UK education system. ASPIRE offers qualifications that are accepted throughout the world and are equivalent to those awarded in the UK. AFTERNOON PROGRAMME
At ASPIRE we recognise that all students have different talents and interests. For this reason, we have adopted our own afternoon programme. ASPIRE offers an extensive range of afternoon activities that change on a half-termly basis. These include cookery, debating, business enterprise, drama and sports. We are also licensed to operate the presitgious Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and encourage the students to enter when they reach the qualifying age of 14. During the programme the students become involved in various projects which offer service to the local community whilst learning to work as a team and for the good of others. The Duke of Edinburgh scheme has four sections:
1. SERVICE - Encourages service to others
2. EXPEDITION - Encourages the spirit of adventure and discovery
3. SKILLS - Develops a new interest
4. PHYSICAL RECREATION - Encourages participation in a particular sport
ASPIRE organises walks and residential trips, both in Cyprus and overseas, where the students are able to complete the programme's expedition section. This enables the students to build firmer friendships and promotes team-work and cooperation. The afternoon programme and trips, which are not exclusive to Duke of Edinburgh participants, are encouraged by the teachers as a means of developing the whole child by celebrating individuals' interests.
