GENOVA ARCHITETURA

The coastal area of ORMIDEIA in Famagusta, Cyprus is the case study of this workshop. Ormideia was selected due to its special characteristics in terms of natural beauty, its special position and relation to the water and the problems that have been identified in the area related to the human activities, the overall organization of space and the connectivity with the community centre and the surro

undings. What is more, the area belongs to a special administrative status, as it is in the boundaries of the Greek Cypriot Government but it is controlled by the British Bases. This has caused the area several problems concerning the growth and the development of activities. The study area is like an embryo ready to be developed and come to life. The aim of the workshop is to describe and investigate the problems and the specific characteristics of the area and create a comprehensive vision for the area. The overall objective is to create an attractive space for locals and visitors based on different activities and functions growing like an embryo to the area with respect to the natural environment.
