ALL DETAILED INFORMATION
The Cyprus Academy of Music hosts its 2nd International Summer School & Festival at the UNESCO World Heritage Traditional Village of Omodos, Cyprus from July 17 to July 26, 2015.
This Intensive Top Level Project is intended for advanced students & young professionals who wish to pursue excellence in their field. It is comprised of three autonomous and interconnected Schools:
School of Classical Music
School of Jazz Music
School of Ballet & Contemporary Dance
SCHOOL OF CLASSICAL MUSIC
Maestro Yiannis Hadjiloizou, Artistic Director

Instrumentalists will work alongside Maestro Yiannis Hadjiloizou on Music by Haydn, Wagner, and Stravinsky, as well as other daily tasks.
SCHOOL OF OPERA
Soprano Aliki Chrysochou, Artistic Director

Participants will be offered private instruction with World Renowned Cypriot Baritone Kyros Patsalides on Technique for 30’ followed by 20’ of Aria Interpretation with Piano accompaniment. Melodrama time will be adjusted according to the flow of the lesson. Technique will incorporate Diaphragm and Head Singing as well as other Breathing and Breath Support Exercises, Voice Placement & Orthophony, Body Exercises & Posture, and Vibrato. During Melodrama students will work on selected Arias from Opera and/or Operetta. Important advise on Vocal and Respiratory Organs’ Health & Wellness will also be offered. Students will be free to preselect their own Music from Opera, Oratorio, Operetta, Lied, Byzantine, and Light Classical Repertoire. Opera Workshops will be organized daily and a Public Performance will be given in collaboration with the other Schools of the Festival.
SCHOOL OF JAZZ MUSIC
Jazz Virtuoso Sylvain Sourdeix, Artistic Director

Participants will have the chance to study and perform Swing, Bebop, and Modern Jazz Styles. This applies to both Instrumentalists and Vocalists. Each student will receive a weekly private lesson with the appropriate Instructor, as well as daily rehearsals in small and large ensembles. Other mandatory related classes include Harmony, History, and Composition. All Jazz Students are expected to collaborate artistically and philosophically with those of the Classical and Ballet & Contemporary Dance Schools of the Festival, both as learners and performers.
SCHOOL OF JAZZ AUDITIONS:
Demonstrate musical abilities by performing at least 2 minutes of melody, improvisation, or both on each of the following:
(1) a Blues
(2) a Ballad
(3) a song of the candidate's choice
In addition to demonstrating their musical abilities, auditioners should speak their name and explain why they play Jazz, where they play, and who/what inspires them.
SCHOOL OF BALLET & CONTEMPORARY DANCE

Participants will work on an intensive Gaga Movement as well as Batsheva/Ohad Naharin Repertoire with Batscheva’s own Matan David.

IMPORTANT
Classical Musicians will be offered mandatory Jazz Improvisation courses.
Jazz Musicians will be offered mandatory Classical Theory and Harmony as well as Sight Reading Courses.
All Musicians will be offered a mandatory Dance Class.
All Dancers will be offered mandatory Musicianship, Rhythm, and Score Reading classes.
CONCERTS
All CAMSSF 2015 participants will take part in Cyprus Peace Concert 5 at Kourion Ancient Amphitheatre on July 25, 2015.
AGE LIMIT
The Cyprus Academy of Music Summer School & Festival Age Limit Low is 16 and Age Limit Maximum is 32. Exceptions will be made according to Artistic Level. Accepted students will be divided to 3 groups according to age, level, and the Board of Director’s overall recommendation.
AUDITIONS

MUSICIANS: Send us a Youtube Link performing 4 excerpts representing different styles and eras. Each excerpt should not exceed 1 minute in duration. Your clip should begin with you facing the camera, introducing yourself, and announcing your excerpts. While you perform, you should be in close proximity to the camera so that you can be clearly visible.
DANCERS: Send us a Youtube Link performing 1 excerpt from a choreography of your choice, not exceeding 4 minutes in duration. Your clip should begin with you facing the camera, introducing yourself, and announcing your excerpts. While you perform, you should be in reasonable proximity to the camera so that you can be clearly visible.
Both Musicians and Dancers must attach a Letter of Interest, a Resume or Curriculum Vitae, and a Recommendation from a trusted source.
Audition Deadline is July 1, 2015
Notifications of Admittance or Not will be emailed 3 days after the audition.
Payment details will be emailed to all accepted participants.
SCHOLARSHIPS
The Hadjiloizou Benevolent Foundation for the Arts Culture & Peace will offer 10 Full Scholarships (Tuition Only) to students who show exceptional Artistic Sensitivity and Technical Ability based on their audition alone and a Recommendation Letter from a trusted source. 3 Scholarships will be given to the School of Ballet & Contemporary Dance, 2 Scholarships will be given to the School of Classical Music, 2 Scholarships will be given to the School of Opera, and 2 Scholarships will be given to the School of Jazz.
At the end of the Summer School & Festival the Cyprus Academy of Music will offer 3 Full Scholarships (Tuition & Fees) for full time study at the Academy to those students who show immaculate Personal Ethos, exceptional Artistic Sensitivity, and highest Technical Ability.
