During our EcoSchools workshop in Nicosia, Cyprus, students explored the vital role of soil in the environment and agriculture through practical, hands-on activities.

They investigated pollution, soil composition and soil health, observed processes such as erosion and moisture retention, and became familiar with environmental monitoring tools. As part of a professional development workshop, participants in explored ways to address environmental challenges through the History, Geography, Geopolitics and Political Science.

Participants examined key environmental issues and their geopolitical, economic, and social dimensions 🌍 :

- Exploring contemporary environmental challenges
- Analyzing the geopolitics of resources and climate change
- Sharing pedagogical approaches and classroom activities
- Strengthening critical thinking and interdisciplinary perspectives
- Exchanging ideas and best practices among educators

The workshop provided an opportunity to reflect on how environmental issues can be integrated into teaching, while encouraging students to better understand the complex challenges facing our world.

Recently, teachers and staff from Jean-Pierre Timbaud Lyceum participated in an engaging workshop, "Recycling and Its Impact at School," focused on waste sorting and recycling in the school environment.
