We are delighted to celebrate five of our talented student-athletes who proudly represented the Cyprus U18 National Team at the International Athletics Meeting between Greece and Cyprus.

Their participation reflect their hard work, dedication and commitment to sporting excellence. We are incredibly proud to see our students competing on the international stage and representing both Cyprus and The English School with determination and sportsmanship.

⚽ Celebrating Sporting Success! 🏆

Congratulations to Achilleas Panayiotou, a member of our Sports Programme, on his recent achievements on the football pitch!
Following his hard work and commitment during our morning training sessions last year, Achilleas competed with his football academy in an international tournament in the Netherlands, alongside 12 teams from various countries.

His team achieved an impressive:

🏆 1st Place – Fair Play Award
🧤 1st Place – Best Goalkeeper Award

What an unforgettable week in Madrid! ​
​
Our students enjoyed an enriching cultural and educational experience in Madrid, combining Spanish language learning with unforgettable adventures and meaningful experiences. ​
​
Through the FlyMadrid experience, alongside Spanish lessons, visits to IE University and Universidad Carlos III, an EA workshop, and the iconic Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, our students enjoyed an unforgettable journey of learning and discovery. They also explored Parque Europa, Retiro Park, and Warner Bros. Park, experienced the passion of a flamenco show, learned salsa, and immersed themselves in Madrid's rich culture, cuisine, shopping, and traditions. Every day offered something new to learn, experience, and enjoy. ​

A heartfelt thank you to our Trip Leader, Andy Ioannou, accompanying teachers, Marilena Neokleous, Charis Sisou, and Elena Heracleous, our Spanish teacher, Chryso Constantinou and Myria Constantinidou (ESL2017) for arranging our visit to EA. Your dedication, enthusiasm, and support made this experience truly unforgettable. ​

🌿 Costa Rica 2026 | Creativity • Activity • Service

After months of preparation and excitement, The English School 2026 CAS team
embarked on an unforgettable adventure to Costa Rica!

From protecting endangered sea turtles during nightly beach patrols and
participating in beach clean-ups, to hiking through tropical rainforests, crossing
spectacular hanging bridges and rafting along rivers, our students embraced
every opportunity to learn, grow and make a positive impact.

Working alongside local conservation projects, visiting wildlife rescue centres and
experiencing the rich traditions of the Maleku Indigenous community gave
students a deeper understanding of environmental stewardship and cultural
appreciation. Through their CAS Project Challenge, inspired by the UN
Sustainable Development Goals, they explored innovative ideas for building a
more sustainable future.

Throughout the trip, our students embodied the true spirit of Creativity, Activity
and Service, returning home with unforgettable memories, new friendships and
experiences that will stay with them for years to come.

A huge well done to everyone who took part in this incredible journey! 💚🐢🌎

️Indonesia: A Journey of Service, Learning and Discovery
25 of our students travelled to Lovina, Bali in July, taking part in an IVHQ
volunteering project, teaching English in local schools and contributing to a
meaningful programme of cultural exchange and community engagement. 📚🤝

Alongside their teaching activities, students supported the local community
through a beach clean-up 🌊, immersed themselves in Balinese culture through
music, dance and cooking 🎶💃🍴, and explored some of the island’s most
beautiful sights.

It was a journey defined by service, learning, teamwork and personal growth,
creating friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. 💙

A heartfelt thank you to Trip Leader Ioanna Nicolaou and accompanying staff
members Panos Polyzogopoulos and Katerina Ralli for their guidance and
support throughout this special adventure.
