PROGRAMMING FOR KIDS
Build games with Scratch & GameMaker; Program robots; Prototype using 3D Design/Print; Build electronic circuits
Ayios Dometios; Once a week; 100 euro/mo
We teach programming A to Z. Kids start with a real world problem to first envision it in their minds discussing with one another, then conceptualizing the solution on paper and finally coding it.
Robotics
Kids learn to build their own robots learning principles from scratch. They not simply use kits following instructions, but truly understand what robots are, about their sensors and actuators, and how we can program them to do things that intelligent creatures do. Concepts are introduced as we go along.
Prototype Design
3D print Build Circuits
Kids will be inspired to come up with their own designs and then engaged in structured activities to construct them. Prototyping includes use of electronic circuit kits, and 3D printing.
The courses are implemented under the supervision of Dr. Yiannis Laouris a known pioneer of several international initiatives for educational reforms using technology. National and international experts advice the curriculum and pilot in other countries. Kids registering for June 2019 will participate in pilot research implementations of a very innovative educational approach designed to facilitate deep understanding and true learning while kids will be having fun. The courses are implemented under the auspices of the Neuroscience and Technology team of Future Worlds Center in the context of international research collaborations and aim to develop next-decade curricula.
