At SYNTHESIS, we are incredibly proud to see the work of the " GreenVΕΤ partnership receive this recognition.

The project has focused on strengthening the capacity of Vocational Education and Training institutions, educators and professionals to respond meaningfully to the green transition, supporting the integration of sustainability, green competences and environmentally responsible practices into education and training.

This recognition is a wonderful acknowledgement of the collaboration, commitment and shared effort of all partners involved. 💚

📢 Το πρώτο Newsletter του έργου Pilgrimage4Youth είναι εδώ!

Με ιδιαίτερη χαρά μοιραζόμαστε το πρώτο ενημερωτικό δελτίο του ευρωπαϊκού έργου Pilgrimage for Youth: Ταξίδι Ορόσημο για τη Νεολαία.

Στο νέο τεύχος μπορείτε να γνωρίσετε καλύτερα το έργο, τους βασικούς του στόχους και τη φιλοσοφία του, καθώς και να διαβάσετε περισσότερα για την εναρκτήρια συνάντηση των εταίρων στην Αθήνα.

During the session, we went through the finalised NaNu Storybook materila which icludes selected photos/illustrations from last year that we held illustration contest for the stories included in the final book. We also had the chance to explore emotions through art and colors, and also the importance of storytelling in conveying important messages and expressing feelings and values.

A warm thank you to everyone who took part in this beautiful experience.

Call for licensed psychologists, psychotherapists or counsellors to provide mental health support to migrant and refugee women.

Since 2019, the Social Café Initiative by SYNTHESIS has supported migrant and refugee women in Cyprus through empowerment, social integration, peer support, and community connection.

Through our ongoing work, we have identified a growing need for accessible, culturally sensitive, and affordable psychological and emotional support for women in our community.

Many women face the emotional impact of displacement, family separation, uncertainty, social isolation, financial hardship, trauma, gender-based violence, discrimination, and the challenges of rebuilding life in a new country.

For this reason, SYNTHESIS is exploring the development of a community-based mental health support network under the Social Café Initiative.

We warmly invite collaboration from:

✅ Licensed psychologists
✅ Psychotherapists and counsellors
✅ Mental health organisations
✅ Universities and academic departments
✅ Professional associations
✅ Social workers and community support professionals

Possible ways to contribute include voluntary, reduced-cost, or free support sessions, online or in-person counselling, wellbeing workshops, referral pathways or supervision.

We believe that no woman should have to face emotional distress, trauma, or isolation alone. Through collective action, we can strengthen community-based care and build more inclusive support systems.

Our event "Building the Future: Skills, Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Construction", which took place last week in Nicosia and was co-organised with the Cyprus University of Technology / Τεχνολογικό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου, was a great success!🎉

Held within the framework of the European projects BuildSkills Academy and Aperture Innovation, the event brought together green professionals, researchers, students, entrepreneurs, public authorities, and stakeholders from the construction ecosystem to exchange ideas and explore future opportunities on the skills needed for a greener, more digital, and innovative built environment.
🔹 Participants were introduced to the APERTURE MOOC platform and its learning modules on PropTech, sustainable design and construction, circular practices and technological innovation in urban environments.
🔹 Attendees also got a first glimpse of the upcoming APERTURE Virtual Business Incubator, launching this autumn, which will support students and aspiring entrepreneurs in transforming innovative ideas into future ventures within the PropTech and sustainable construction area. 🚀💡

🌟 The ALPHABETICAeu Living Lab in Cyprus is in full swing! 🌟

👩‍🏫Since March, Synthesis Center for Research and Education has been implementing a series of participatory activities as part of the Cyprus ALPHABETICA Living Lab, bringing together children, educators, artists, policymakers and community members to explore arts-based approaches to inclusion and learning.

📖 Following the Living Lab methodology, the Cyprus pilot began with stakeholder mapping and engagement, bringing together educators, community members, artists, and policymakers to explore how arts-based approaches can foster inclusion and cultural awareness. Through a series of meetings and consultations, participants exchanged experiences, identified local needs, and contributed ideas that helped shape the design of the Living Lab activities.

🎨Building on these insights, the project moved into the co-creation and prototyping phase, where creative educational activities were developed by teachers and artists, and tested with children. One such activity was inspired by the vibrant butterfly artworks of David Kracov. Through art and reflection, primary school children, including many from migrant and multicultural backgrounds, created their own "Butterflies of Diversity and Inclusion," expressing their unique identities, aspirations, talents, and stories while celebrating the value of belonging in a diverse community.

🧚Each butterfly was unique, yet together they formed a collective artwork symbolising how diverse individuals contribute to a stronger and more inclusive community. The activity embodies the core values of the ALPHABETICAeu Living Lab: co-creation, participation, creativity, and social inclusion.

🤝As we continue the pilot, we look forward to gathering feedback from stakeholders, refining the activities, and generating knowledge that will help create more inclusive and culturally responsive educational environments across Europe.
