Remember this.

Dear Teacher, 🌹

This is a welcome letter
I want to share with you.

You are going to meet the most wonderful students this year.
Greet them every morning or afternoon with a smile—even when you don’t feel like smiling—because yours might be the only smile in their life. You might be the only person who believes in them, who notices them, who cares.

Then teach them the best you can.
It won’t always be easy. They may not be ready. They may be tired or hungry. They may be sad or mad. They may be unprepared or uninterested. Or they may be having a good day and be attentive and ready to learn... there will be those days too. Take advantage and savor those days!

But remember, teaching isn’t just
about the schoolwork; it’s also about the connections you will make with your students.
For at least this year, you will be one of the most important people in their lives. That is a huge responsibility, and one that school did not prepare you for.
But trust me,
You are ready because you cared enough to become a teacher,
knowing it wouldn’t always be easy.

There will come a day
when you will meet these students again
and they will greet you with a smile, because they will remember that you were the one who smiled at them, who believed in them, who noticed them, who cared for them, who taught them, the best you could.

Breathe—you’ve got this!
