SUSPENSION OF OPERATIONS UNTIL 15 MARCH 2020

🔶 UN Human Rights Council 🔶
Climate change has been a central issue for the past few decades. As the earth’s temperatures have been following unprecedented and alarming fluctuations, so has awareness around the topic multiplied. However, the fact of mere public awareness is not remotely enough for combating the severe impacts of climate change so much on human rights, as on the environment. Millions of deaths have been linked with the aforesaid phenomenon, as it hinders people’s access to food, to good quality housing, to a healthy environment, making them prone to malicious diseases and extreme weather conditions, forcing many to leave their homelands. Governments all over the world have but recently started to address the issue in both national and international contexts, with SDG 13 and the Paris Agreement being important steps in this endeavour. Is it, however, time to sit back and rejoice, or is now, more than ever, the time to actively pursue change in the face of a destructive force threatening our most integral human rights?
