Yoga and cats.....my dearest passions!
We are greatful to have Rebecca Zambetakis at the 5th OYDC 2019 on the 12th of May 2019. Rebecca is an Ashtanga Yoga practitioner and Instructor.
Since being introduced to Hatha yoga in 2003 for my personal journey to health and stability, exploring the methods of Asana (postures), concentration/meditation and breathing techniques, yoga has been a major part of my life.
She witnessed the change in herself and decided to start to study more and share what she had found... Over the span of 16 years she has been trained, travelled and studied with various teachers. Eventually finding the Ashtanga method 8 years ago, and since then it has been her daily practice and teaching.
Ashtanga Yoga, a systematized method of Hatha yoga, taught traditionally as a self practice, allowing the student/practitioner to gain strength, stamina and knowledge of the self through repetition, commitment and creating challenging situations that eventually with confidence and skill enable you to overcome fears and doubts , on our mats and carried through into life.

September Beginners Course:
The Yoga Room invites you to "come take practice ".
For the whole of September, Ashtanga yoga beginners course offering two time slots and Mysore and Led classes, giving you the opportunity to delve into the practice. Experience practicing in the Mysore style with the other practitioners, follow the guided classes, and in both learn the sequence gradually and at your own pace.
The Primary Series of Ashtanga yoga takes years of daily practice to understand and find some ease in.....to find seemingly effortless movements and space for stillness.
And this is exactly what we do by practicing Mysore style, slowly, methodically, no rush to get through or finish......as it never really finishes, just grows as you do.
Your very own personal individual practice.
In this month you will receive instruction for the foundation, breathing, surya namaskars A+B, standing sequence and slowly progressing through the primary series and finishing sequence.
The time slots are:
Morning 7-7:30 am start time.(every day)
Evening 6-6:30 pm start time.(except Friday)
There are both Mysore and led classes morning and evening and to register for the beginners course 3+ classes must be attended weekly.
Ashtanga yoga's not so secret method is in the repetition. Practicing small amounts daily or at least a few times a week in the beginning is where success lies.
The Shala (practice room), other students, their energy and the teacher are all very important aspects in keeping up a regular practice.
So if you are interested in finding out what this yoga is!
" Come and take practice "

You'll also meet Solo the cat in person......and he is😉💕
