🌤️ Πρόγραμμα Κατάρτισης: «Εφαρμοσμένη Μετεωρολογία και Ποιότητα Αέρα»

Το Κέντρο Επαγγελματικής Κατάρτισης του Ινστιτούτου Κύπρου σας προσκαλεί στο δωρεάν, πιστοποιημένο από την ΑνΑΔ πρόγραμμα κατάρτισης «Εφαρμοσμένη Μετεωρολογία και Ποιότητα Αέρα», το οποίο στοχεύει στην παροχή εξειδικευμένων γνώσεων και δεξιοτήτων για την κατανόηση της ατμοσφαιρικής φυσικής, της δυναμικής των καιρικών συστημάτων και νεφών, της κλιματικής μεταβλητότητας και των παρατηρήσεων ποιότητας αέρα, στοιχεία απαραίτητα για όσους δραστηριοποιούνται σε τομείς που σχετίζονται με την ατμόσφαιρα, το περιβάλλον ή τη μετεωρολογία.

💡 Το πρόγραμμα προσφέρει:
• Κατανόηση της σύστασης της ατμόσφαιρας και των βασικών μεθόδων μέτρησης και παρατήρησης μετεωρολογικών μεταβλητών.
• Ερμηνεία συνοπτικών μετεωρολογικών χαρτών, αναγνώριση μετωπικών συστημάτων και κυκλώνων και ανάλυση των σχετικών καιρικών φαινομένων.
• Κατανόηση του ενεργειακού ισοζυγίου της Γης και του ρόλου των ακτινοβολιακών εξαναγκασμών στην κλιματική αλλαγή και την άνοδο της στάθμης της θάλασσας.
• Εξοικείωση με αερολύματα και αέρια της ατμόσφαιρας και τις μεθόδους μέτρησής τους για την αξιολόγηση της ποιότητας του αέρα.

👥 Απευθύνεται σε περιβαλλοντικούς επιστήμονες, μηχανικούς και λειτουργούς, καθώς και σε επαγγελματίες στους τομείς της ατμόσφαιρας, του κλίματος και της ενέργειας. Επίσης σε στελέχη δημόσιων οργανισμών και τοπικής αυτοδιοίκησης (π.χ. μετεωρολογίας, περιβάλλοντος και θαλάσσιων ερευνών), καθώς και σε φοιτητές και επαγγελματίες που ενδιαφέρονται για μετεωρολογία, κλιματικές επιστήμες, διαχείριση κινδύνων και ανθεκτικότητα.

🔹 Στο πρόγραμμα μπορούν να συμμετάσχουν μόνο κάτοικοι Κύπρου.

🖳 Join our Training Program ‘Advanced Programming for Digital Humanities & Cultural Heritage’

🎓The Vocational Education and Training Center of The Cyprus Institute invites you to a unique training opportunity designed to bridge the gap between technology and the humanities.
This free, HRDA-certified program aims to strengthen digital skills in the humanities and cultural heritage sectors by advancing participants’ programming knowledge through more complex and applied concepts. It addresses the need for advanced technical skills, enabling participants to tackle complex challenges in the Digital Humanities (DH) and Cultural Heritage (CH) sectors.

💡 What you will gain:
• Develop the ability to design and build advanced web applications for Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage contexts.
• Gain experience in integrating APIs and external data sources into cultural heritage applications.
• Acquire knowledge of database optimization and management techniques for large-scale digital heritage data.
• Design and implement interactive, user-friendly interfaces that enhance access to cultural heritage content.
• Understand and apply software engineering best practices to improve the quality, maintainability, and scalability of DH/CH projects.

🙋‍♂️ Who Should Join?
Academics, researchers, and professionals who have completed the introductory training program or possess equivalent foundational programming knowledge.
It is particularly suited to cultural heritage professionals seeking to develop advanced digital applications, as well as IT specialists and developers working within or focusing on the humanities and cultural heritage sectors.

📚 Minimum requirements:
- Completion of “Introduction to Programming for Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage” training program or equivalent knowledge
- Familiarity with basic programming concepts and tools like Python and Django
- Professional experience in Digital Humanities or IT is advantageous but not mandatory

📣 PhD Position Available at The Cyprus Institute!

We are excited to announce a PhD position at The Cyprus Institute within the framework of the funded ERA Chair “Quantum Computing for Excellence in Science and Technology (QUEST)” project. The doctoral research will be carried out at The Cyprus Institute in Cyprus with short-term secondments in DESY, Germany.

🗓 Start Date: Fall 2026
⏳ Duration: 18 months (full-time, 40 hours/week)
📍 Location: The Cyprus Institute, Nicosia, Cyprus

Important note: The successful candidate will be accepted to the Computational Sciences PhD program at The Cyprus Institute starting Fall 2026. The duration of the PhD program is expected to be 36 months. Earlier employment at CyI as GRF may be required.

Deadline for Applications: May 1st (open for EU and international students); August 23rd (open for EU and international students who do not require a Visa/Entry Permit).
