The American Academy Nicosia is a private English Language school located in the heart of Nicosia.

The American Academy Nicosia (AAN) is a private English language school offering Pre-School, Primary and Secondary level education (for students aged 3-19) following the National Curriculum of England. The Academy provides Pre-school, Primary and Secondary level education following the British Curriculum. As a school certified by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Cyprus its curriculum a

lso reflects local variations to ensure that it also provides students with the Cypriot Certificate of Education. The school operates as a non-for-profit business, ensuring maximum investment in educational development together with attractive levels of school fees. The school has a rich history, stretching back for over 90 years. Founded in 1922, the Academy first opened its doors as a pioneering school providing secondary education to young women growing up in Cyprus. Its high quality education created opportunity for these early students to enter a wide range of professions or to join other young women from around the world who were increasingly determined to pursue study at university. Today the school opens its doors to both girls and boys and has expanded to also provide education for Pre-school and Primary aged children. Students from all over the world now make the Academy a truly International School. During the last week of June, our Year 7–10 students enjoyed an unforgettable week at our Annual Summer Bible Camp in the beautiful Troodos mountains.
The week was filled with adventure, reflection, and friendship, from team games and competitions to hiking the Caledonia Falls Trail and cooling off at the pool.
Through engaging discussions and shared experiences, students were encouraged to think about important values, personal growth, and the world around them. Most importantly, they built lasting friendships, supported one another, and created memories they will cherish for years to come. 🌲⛰️☀️

During the last week of June, our Secondary School students enjoyed an unforgettable three-day educational trip to Newcastle University, where they had the opportunity to experience university life firsthand. 🎓✈️
Throughout their visit, students immersed themselves in engaging university-level activities in Mathematics, Engineering, Law, and Biomedical Sciences, gaining valuable insight into a range of academic disciplines and future career pathways. 📚⚖️🔬 They also had the chance to explore the vibrant city of Newcastle and enjoyed spending time discovering its unique character and surroundings. 🌆
A huge thank you to Dr. Lee Fawcett and Newcastle University for organising such an inspiring, informative, and enriching experience for our students. 🌟

🎓 Congratulations to the Class of 2026! 🎓

On 19 June, we proudly celebrated the graduation of our Year 13 students, marking the end of an important chapter and the beginning of exciting new journeys.

We heard inspiring speeches from our Head Boy, Head Girl, and Valedictorian, whose words reflected the achievements, memories, and aspirations of the Class of 2026. We were also honoured to welcome our esteemed guest, Mr. Constantinos Yiorkadjis, who addressed the students and shared valuable words of encouragement as they prepare for the future.

A heartfelt thank you to all those who presented awards and contributed to the ceremony, helping to make the occasion truly special.

🎳☀️ What a wonderful way to celebrate the end of another fantastic school year! 🎉💙

On 17 June 2026, our AAN community came together for a fun-filled Bowling Night, bringing together students, parents, teachers, and staff to celebrate the last day of school before the summer holidays. 🤝🎳

On Friday, 12 June, we celebrated a very special milestone as our Reception students proudly took part in their Promotion Ceremony, marking the end of their preschool journey and the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Year One.

🌟 Last Wednesday, our Nursery 1 and 2 students delighted parents and guests with their end-of-year performance of The Enormous Turnip, followed by a lively Greek song and dance! 🎭🎶💃

We are incredibly proud of our young performers, who shone with confidence, enthusiasm, and joy. As the preschool year comes to an end, this special celebration was the perfect way to reflect on another wonderful year of learning, growth, and memorable moments. 🌱✨
