Developing a Gamified Tool for enhancing youth entrepreneurial skills Neither the European Union nor EACEA can be held responsible for them.
The EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027 stresses the need to support youth entrepreneurship by incorporating core elements, such as digital experiences, ideation, social and business value, interpersonal interactions, social responsibility, inspiring the take up of initiatives, resilience, etc. GameYES responds to the priority of increasing quality, innovation and recognition of youth work by directly inc
orporating the EU EntreComp Framework that encompasses a variety of skills, such as communication, collaboration, negotiation, interpersonal skills, etc., that are foundational for active citizenship and participation of youth. In this view, all entrepreneurship-related skills, such as critical thinking, decision-making, leadership, collaboration, learning from failure, creativity and innovation, negotiation, etc., are among the core skills that youth will be practising and developing throughout the GameYES gamified curriculum. Objectives:
- To make gaming competences more pedagogic, interactive and informative in enhancing entrepreneurial skills.
- To promote transnational and cross-sectoral collaborations for enhancing entrepreneurship skills and mindsets among youth via a, currently-absent, digitally enhanced and gamified experience based on the EntreComp framework.
- To utilise co-creation methods involving youth practitioners and youth for the development of innovative curriculum, digitalised resources and a mobile application game.
- To transfer knowledge and good practices for creating the EU society of the future, with young citizens that are entrepreneurial-oriented. Activities:
- Establishing a ‘User Scrutiny Panel’ consisting of 25 youth practitioners and young people from all partner countries to ensure a participatory action approach in all our activities and to apply the aspect of co-creation.
- Delivering a ‘Train the Trainer’ transnational virtual event involving youth workers and practitioners on the GameYES curriculum.
- Delivering the GameYES curriculum with 100 European youth, through the GameYES mobile application game.
- Organising National ‘Pitching Youth Entrepreneurial Ideas’ competitions involving youth and a panel of entrepreneurial experts. Resources:
- GameYES gamified curriculum guided by the EntreComp framework with interactive activities, multimedia resources, including 10 missions, in 5 languages (EN, GR, PT, ES, IT).
- GameYES online learning platform and mobile application.
- ‘Train the Trainer’ Guide containing information on how to integrate the gamified curriculum into existing practises, how to lead teams of young users to utilise and complete the gamified curriculum (regardless of age and setting). Results:
- Improved digital transformation via the development of an online platform and a mobile application game.
- Increased quality, innovation and recognition of youth work, as youth practitioners will guide youth to develop and evolve entrepreneurial ideas for national pitching competitions, to take place as part of the project.
- Enhanced sense of initiative and entrepreneurship among youth. Co-experts:
- Youth Practitioners.
- Business and Start-up Incubators.
- Entrepreneurship and Digital Experts.
- Youth training and education providers.
- Curriculum and Accreditation Designers.
- Vocational Education and Training Organisations.
- Academic Institutions.
- Local Authorities and Policy Makers.
