Honor Frost Foundation Scholarship

The Honor Frost Foundation (HFF) (https://honorfrostfoundation.org/) offers a scholarship to a candidate pursuing a PhD at the programme Archaeology of the Mediterranean from Prehistory to the Byzantine Era, of the Department of History and Archaeology.
The PhD research should be on a topic related to Coastal Archaeology of the Eastern Mediterranean, with a focus on themes such as: maritime geoarchaeology, digital approaches to the management of maritime cultural heritage, the archaeology of harbours and anchorages, and the assessment of coastal threats — including the impacts of climate change on coastal archaeology.
Admission: Fall Semester, Academic Year 2026/2027 (September 2026)
Eligibility for the scholarship is contingent upon successful admission to the PhD programme. Candidates should apply through both the HFF scholarship program and the University of Cyprus. Please be aware that these programmes have different deadlines.

Υποτροφία του Ιδρύματος Honor Frost

Το Ίδρυμα Honor Frost (HFF) (https://honorfrostfoundation.org/) προσφέρει μία υποτροφία για την εκπόνηση διδακτορικής διατριβής, στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος Αρχαιολογία του Μεσογειακού Χώρου από την Προϊστορία έως τη Βυζαντινή περίοδο, του Τμήματος Ιστορίας και Αρχαιολογίας.
Η προτεινόμενη διδακτορική έρευνα πρέπει να αφορά στο γνωστικό πεδίο της Παράκτιας Αρχαιολογίας της Ανατολικής Μεσογείου, εστιάζοντας σε θεματικές όπως: η θαλάσσια γεωαρχαιολογία, οι ψηφιακές προσεγγίσεις στη διαχείριση της ενάλιας πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς, η αρχαιολογία λιμένων και αγκυροβολίων, καθώς και η αξιολόγηση απειλών για την παράκτια ζώνη — συμπεριλαμβανομένων των επιπτώσεων της κλιματικής αλλαγής.
Έναρξη φοίτησης: Χειμερινό Εξάμηνο, Ακαδημαϊκό Έτος 2026/2027 (Σεπτέμβριος 2026)
Η επιλεξιμότητα για την υποτροφία εξαρτάται από την επιτυχή εισαγωγή στο διδακτορικό πρόγραμμα. Οι υποψήφιοι/ες θα πρέπει να υποβάλουν αίτηση τόσο στο πρόγραμμα υποτροφιών του HFF όσο και στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου. Σημειώνεται ότι τα δύο προγράμματα έχουν διαφορετικές προθεσμίες.
