Across Europe, access to ABA and behavioural interventions remains uneven.

In general, Europe faces a shortage of training opportunities for behaviour analysts.
Access to ABA is highly dependent on private funding, specialist schools, or local service models, rather than universal health systems.

In Cyprus, ABA is available through private practitioners; but the workforce is relatively small and concentrated in the two main cities (Nicosia and Limassol).

As the ABA VR project slowly comes to an end, project partners travelled to Cyprus for the final transnational meeting, a great opportunity to come together, reflect on our progress, and share the final outcomes of the project.

To celebrate this important milestone, we organised an ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ซ ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ง๐ญ of the ABA-VR project. As part of the event, we presented the projectโ€™s final results to the students from European University Cyprus, exploring ๐ก๐จ๐ฐ ๐•๐ข๐ซ๐ญ๐ฎ๐š๐ฅ ๐‘๐ž๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐œ๐š๐ง ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ ๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐ž๐ก๐š๐ฏ๐ข๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐Œ๐š๐ง๐š๐ ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐ข๐ง ๐š๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฆ ๐ž๐๐ฎ๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ .

During the event, participants had the opportunity to explore the ๐€๐๐€-๐•๐‘ ๐ž๐ฅ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐ข๐œ ๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐š๐ญ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ and experience the ๐•๐ข๐ซ๐ญ๐ฎ๐š๐ฅ ๐‘๐ž๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ (๐•๐‘) ๐ญ๐จ๐จ๐ฅ developed throughout the project. The students interacted with immersive VR scenarios designed to support learning and professional training in the field of ๐š๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฆ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐€๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ ๐๐ž๐ก๐š๐ฏ๐ข๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐€๐ง๐š๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฌ (๐€๐๐€).

A key feature of ABA is that each program is ๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ๐ž๐ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ข๐ง๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐๐ฎ๐š๐ฅ ๐ง๐ž๐ž๐๐ฌ and circumstances, meaning it is not a one-size-fits-all approach. It requires qualified specialists who undergo extensive training. The goal of ABA is to reduce rigidity and teach varied behaviors for real-life use, with the removal of artificial reinforcers planned in advance to ensure the child behaves appropriately in natural circumstances without dependence on rewards.

On the 12th and 13th of May, partners and trainers gathered in Aarhus, Denmark ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ for the ๐’๐ƒ๐†๐Ÿ‘-๐•๐„๐“ ๐“๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐“๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ž๐ซ ๐ฆ๐ž๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ .

During the two-day training, participants exchanged knowledge, collaborated on innovative ideas, and presented the Guidebook developed through the projectโ€™s joint efforts. The meeting focused on strengthening skills and exploring approaches that promote cultural competence and inclusive practices in social and healthcare VET.

One of the highlights of the day was the ๐๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ญ๐ฒ ๐–๐š๐ฅ๐ค (https://povertywalk.dk/) an impactful experience that encouraged participants to reflect on social inequality, inclusion, and the realities faced by vulnerable groups in society.

The training also provided valuable opportunities for networking, peer learning, and sharing experiences among partners and educators from different countries, further strengthening collaboration within the SDG3-VET project.

Last weekend, 16th- 17th of May, we successfully held our ABA VR project pilot testing, focusing on Behaviour Management through Virtual Reality, alongside the projectโ€™s final multiplier event. The events brought together education, innovation, and inclusion through an interactive and immersive learning experience.

The highlight of the events was the Virtual Reality Workshop, where attendees had the opportunity to experience how Virtual Reality technologies can be integrated into education and training, creating immersive and innovative learning environments.

Hosted at the European University Cyprus, the events encouraged collaboration, discussion, and hands-on exploration of how technology can support more inclusive and effective educational practices.

Another milestone for the GaitXR project!

We just finished our second face-to-face partner meeting in Modena, Italy, kindly hosted by ANS. During these productive days, partners came together to finalize the last steps of the GaitXR booklet, ensuring everything is ready for the next phase of the project.

We also had the chance to test the augmented reality application, exploring its potential and making valuable improvements. Alongside this, we planned our upcoming Train-the-Trainer activity in Denmark, laying the foundation for the next stage of implementation.
