Questions can do more than gather information.
They can help our teenager slow down, notice what they think and find their own next step.
But that does not mean finding the perfect wording.
A thoughtful question can still feel like pressure if our tone carries judgement, if we ask too many questions at once or if we answer it for them.
The question may open the door. Our listening is what makes it feel safe to walk through.
These seven questions are not scripts. Choose one that fits the moment, ask it simply and leave enough space for the answer.
