It was a great honor that 2 members of Hydro-Aromatic Plants Group CUT were invited at The World Young Scientist Summit (WYSS) under the theme of “Converging the World’s Talents, Creating a Better Future,” and specific topic being “Youth Innovation: Fostering New Quality Productive Forces,” WYSS2024, in Wenzhou, China on November 15-17, 2024.
The 2 members of the Hydro Aromatic Plants group, Cyprus University of Technology, associate professor Dr Nikos Tzortzakis (Gropu Leader) and Dr Chrysargyris Antonis were invited as special guests (VIP) by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as PANDA members to participate at the WYSS2024. This event had more than 6000 participants and 300 international special guests. Both Dr Nikos Tzortzakis and Dr Antonios Chrysargyris gave interviews to the Chinese media regarding the Science and Sustainable Environment at the WYSS2024 forum and had the chance to interact with young scientists.
It was a great experience, meeting several Nobelists such as Prof Hartmut Michel, (Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1988), who gave a plenary talk and updates on research global ‘’My route to the Nobel Prize’’.
Additionally, it was an amazing experience to visit the WYSS's Great Health Forum and FOX ESS energy Industry Forum, one of the largest worldwide units. Last but not least we had the opportunity to get the Chinese very warm welcoming and culture.
The World Young Scientist Summit (WYSS) is an international sci-tech exchange platform for young people, sponsored by China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and The People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, and co-organized by World Association of Young Scientists (preparatory), Organization and Personnel Department of CAST, Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology, and Wenzhou Municipal People’s Government.
