" Digital Objects for Archaeological Heritage: A Architecture" by Zeyd Boukhers, Lingxiao Kong, and Georgios Toubekis presents an innovative framework for addressing one of the most persistent challenges in archaeological heritage management: the fragmentation of excavation data, metadata, and digital representations across disconnected systems.
Developed within the European Cloud for Heritage OpEn Science - Echoes project and aligned with the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage ( ), the proposed architecture combines FAIR Digital Objects (FDOs), persistent identifiers, CIDOC-CRM semantic modelling, and knowledge graph technologies to create a fully interconnected and machine-actionable heritage ecosystem. By linking archaeological artefacts, excavation contexts, actors, places, events, and digital twins within a reusable semantic framework, the research offers a powerful approach to improving discoverability, interoperability, long-term preservation, and cross-institutional reuse of archaeological heritage data.

" at : Open Workflows and Tools for Exploiting Large-Scale 3D Datasets" by George Ioannidis, Sander Münster, Dominik Ukolov, Simone Rigon, Elisa Mariarosaria Farella, Fabio Remondino, Paweł Marciniak, and Mikołaj Węgrzynowski presents innovative solutions for managing, enriching, and reusing the rapidly growing volume of 3D cultural heritage data.
Developed within the 3DBigDataSpace project, the research addresses the challenges of aggregating and standardising large-scale 3D datasets through open workflows, AI-assisted metadata enrichment, advanced classification methods, and interoperable visualisation tools. By supporting applications ranging from museums and tourism to urban history and immersive XR experiences, the project demonstrates how scalable digital infrastructures can unlock the full potential of cultural heritage data while contributing to the development of the European common data space for cultural heritage.

Heritage Malta "The Memory Twin Framework: A Holistic Approach to Cultural Heritage Digitisation," introduces an innovative framework that extends the concept of the digital twin by integrating data, metadata, and paradata into a certified, spatially anchored knowledge system for cultural heritage.
Through the ongoing doctoral research at the Unesco Chair on Digital Cultural Heritage , the framework addresses one of the most pressing challenges in the digital age: ensuring that digitised heritage assets retain their authenticity, provenance, and interpretive integrity when reused across immersive technologies and generative AI applications. By providing a semantically rich and traceable knowledge architecture, the framework offers a compelling vision for the future of digital heritage management and responsible AI-enabled cultural heritage engagement.

Ana Carvalho's poster at the Summit, "The Role of Digital Technologies in Managing Digital Heritage: Findings from the InMAP Study - and : Mapping the (In)Tangible" examines how museums, archives, libraries, universities, and heritage associations are documenting, preserving, and providing access to digital collections related to intangible cultural heritage.
Drawing on a nationwide survey and interviews with heritage professionals across Portugal, the research highlights both the growing importance of digital collections in supporting more inclusive and community-oriented heritage narratives and the challenges that continue to affect their long-term sustainability, including limitations in digital skills, infrastructure, preservation capacity, and public access. This important contribution offers valuable insights into the future management of digital heritage within memory institutions.
