☀️ Year 3 enjoyed a day out at Meso Potamos, immersing themselves in nature and making the most of our beautiful local surroundings. Splitting into two groups, one set of budding geographers hiked to a stunning waterfall, using compasses to create sketch maps and bringing their classroom learning to life. Meanwhile, the other group engaged in team-building activities, including den building alongside the river. Students were treated to delicious ice cream at the end of a wonderful day filled with adventure, fresh air and friendship!

🇫🇷 We are extremely proud to announce that two Heritage students have been recognised in the prestigious AMOPA « Plaisir d’écrire » International Competition 2025–2026.
In the category « L’œuvre d’art au fil des mots » Première, Angelina Da Rosa (Year 12) received 1st Prize for her text « Dans un café (ou L’Absinthe) », inspired by the work of Edgar Degas, while Emmerson Clamp (Year 11), received 1st Prize in the category « L’œuvre d’art au fil des mots » Seconde for « Bal Moulin de la Galette », inspired by the painting by Auguste Renoir.
This achievement is especially significant for Cyprus. As a small country competing alongside students from French-speaking countries, this success highlights the creativity and talent of our students. It also reflects the strength of French language education at our School and the importance of cultural exchange through literature and art. Congratulations to Angelina and Emmerson, and we thank our Head of French, Ms Anna Potey, who guided and inspired the students throughout this journey. Bravo à tous!

The boys went one step further, lifting the trophy after a dramatic final against Akrotiri, sealed by an incredible final-over hat-trick from Zain Rizvi! All students represented the School with exceptional sportsmanship, teamwork, and grace throughout the tournament. 👏

Our Amphitheatre was filled with excitement, music and unforgettable surprises as our Primary and Secondary students gathered for what they believed was a routine photo session - only to discover it was all part of a very special surprise visit from Cyprus’ Eurovision 2026 star, Antigoni.
As Year 12 student Zoe Charalambous was performing the beloved “Chrysoprasino Fyllo” by Mikis Theodorakis, Antigoni’s voice suddenly joined in harmony from off stage before she appeared in the amphitheatre, creating a magical moment that left students and staff cheering in amazement.
Antigoni spoke warmly with our students, while our Year 4 classes delighted her with a performance of her Eurovision song “Jalla”, which they have been preparing for their upcoming end-of-year ceremony. She then performed the song herself, with the entire amphitheatre singing along and celebrating together.
Our Executive Head, Elena Smilas, reflected on the significance of the occasion, speaking about the fulfilment of dreams - both for one of our alumni, Mikaela Smilas, who has been part of Antigoni’s Eurovision team, and for Antigoni herself. She encouraged all students to work hard, believe in themselves and follow their dreams with passion and determination.
The visit continued with a special stop at the Early Years Building, where Antigoni surprised our youngest students and teachers, bringing even more joy and emotion to an already memorable morning.
The Heritage Private School warmly thanks Antigoni and her team for taking the time out of their very hectic Cyprus visit schedule to give the students and staff such a wonderful and uplifting morning.
