Negative thoughts

text | Georges Cordoba posted on the topic | LinkedIn Negative thinking isn’t just a mindset… it’s a pattern that shapes your brain. Every time we dwell on fear, doubt, or worst-case scenarios, our brain strengthens those neural pathways. Over time, it becomes easier to default to stress, anxiety, and limitation—even when opportunities are righ...

When compassion isn’t really real

I wasn’t ready to hear this —
but I needed to.

I needed to hear that not everything that happened to me was someone else’s fault.
That I wasn’t the victim — I was also the one who stayed too long, ignored too much, and justified too many things in the name of “understanding.”

I needed to see how I let people take advantage of my empathy.
How I overgave, overexplained, and overcompensated — not out of love,
but out of fear that if I stopped, I’d lose them.

I had to face that part of me that wanted to be “the good one.”
The one who could fix it, hold it all, carry the pain, and still smile through it.
And I realized — that version of me was built for survival, not peace.

It hurt to admit that my boundaries weren’t clear because I was afraid to disappoint.
That my silence wasn’t maturity — it was avoidance.
That my “patience” wasn’t grace — it was self-abandonment dressed as compassion.

The truth is, I taught people how to treat me.
And when they took advantage, it wasn’t just their lack of integrity —
it was my lack of self-respect.

That truth broke me open.
But it also rebuilt me.

Because when you stop blaming and start taking radical responsibility,
you stop attracting the same lessons over and over again.
You start operating from self-trust, not self-sacrifice.
You start recognizing red flags before they burn you.

And you stop mistaking pain for depth, chaos for love, and validation for safety.

I wasn’t ready to hear it then — but I’m grateful I finally did.
Because that version of me needed to die for this one to be born.

Now I choose clarity over confusion.
Boundaries over burnout.
Energy over ego.
And peace over potential.

That’s what accountability looks like —
not shame, but evolution.

💫 Comment “READY” if you’ve ever had to face your own reflection and admit the hardest truth:
You were part of the problem — and now, you’re the solution.

A husband who refused to speak to his wife for 40 years. A father who continued to ignore his daughter on his deathbed. Far from a mere cold shoulder, the silent treatment can be a source of severe harm, Daryl Austin wrote in 2021: https://theatln.tc/zPU8d1Iu

Psycho immunology and epi genetics

The mind-body connection is REAL. There is an intricate relationship between our mental and physical health.

Thinking about a stressful situation activates the hypothalamus in the brain, which triggers the HPA (hypothalamaic-pituitary-adrenal) axis, a stress-response system. This axis releases corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) to the pituitary gland, which in turn sends adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) to the adrenal glands. The adrenal glands then release stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline, preparing the body to respond to a perceived threat, even if the threat is merely a thought.

If these stress hormones remain elevated chronically, it can lead to a wide range of symptoms like no libido, extreme weight gain, fatigue, insomnia, depression, anxiety, brain fog, even autoimmune and other chronic diseases.

Conversely, positive thoughts create healing compounds and promote recovery by activating the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) and altering brain chemistry. By lowering stress hormones and increasing restorative neurotransmitters, a calm state enhances the body’s natural capacity for healing.

The vagus nerve is the main neural pathway for the “rest and digest” parasympathetic nervous system. Stimulating the vagus nerve through calming thoughts and activities helps to: lower stress hormones such as cortisol, reduce inflammation throughout the body, decrease heart rate and blood pressure.

Calm, intentional thought patterns also stimulate the production of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), a protein that acts like “fertilizer” for the brain. BDNF promotes healing and growth in the brain by:

📑Encouraging neurogenesis: the growth of new brain cells.

📑Enhancing neuroplasticity: the brain’s ability to reorganize and form new neural connections. This is a critical factor in recovery from brain injuries and mental health disorders.

📑Protecting existing neurons from stress-induced damage.

For many years young people have been drawn to plant medicine and have been using the experience as a form of entertainment and rarely as a form of self realisation it is caused growing concern for me because I have the opportunity to visit some experience experimentation of this in my Youth, but not to the extreme that it’s been taken nowadays

Even medicinal cannabis has been stretched out of proportion with people justifying daily use and regular consumption entertainment otherwise as a healthy way of coping with life and it’s difficult difficulties needing towards as recently proven to be in loss of motivation a greater concern for remaining outside of society, possibly to feel safer or maybe even keep the world at totally to secure the cycle the fundamental way

Either way they are tribes indigenous people and indigenous wisdom that’s been manipulated by these group of cults that are commercialising and monopolising indigenous knowledge systems worldwide

Just a warning keep your eyes open your ears to the ground when you hear young people celebrating yet another form of drug culture it’s borrowed from certain cultures try to guide them suggest alternative ways to manage their difficulties or to lead to self realisation because we’ve always known many ways, don’t require stimulants chemicals or external resources to introduce higher states consciousness and high levels of self realisation

These are available to us with hard work spiritual techniques and at the very least a certain journey sometimes that takes you to another dimensional state

But with the trending nature of these things online and around the world and lots of people modifying it I stand with the traditional elders and cultural groups that are trying to reposition the narrative and I’ve always believed that when you take something out of context it makes no sense, so let’s be more careful about plant medicine. Let’s respect the intelligence of it and the intelligence within us as well.

Anxiety

In a groundbreaking study, researchers have identified specialized “anxiety cells” in the hippocampus of mice, a brain region linked to both memory and emotional regulation. These cells became highly active when mice encountered anxiety-inducing environments, such as open and exposed spaces. The findings, published in the journal Neuron, could transform how scientists approach anxiety disorders, which affect nearly 20% of adults in the United States.

Using optogenetics a method to control brain cell activity with light the team demonstrated that reducing the activity of these cells made mice less anxious and more exploratory, while stimulating them heightened anxious behavior. Though these cells are only one part of a larger brain network, the discovery provides valuable insight into how anxiety is regulated. Researchers believe this knowledge could guide the development of more effective therapies, especially given the limitations of current treatments.
