The recent feature by Cyprus Mail expands on some of the questions at the heart of our latest documentary, MAMMA:
“What does it mean to be a mother in a society that celebrates motherhood but rarely supports it?”

It is time to open this conversation and for mothers to finally be seen, heard, and supported beyond symbolism and praise.

Thank you Christina Michailidis for this thoughtful piece.

Does Democracy Still Exist Beyond the Ballot? 25/02/2026

Does democracy still exist beyond the ballot?

Democracy is often described as “power to the people.” Lately, it looks far closer to power to the 1%.

Pluralism is eroding. Autocratic tendencies are being normalised. Rights are becoming conditional.

We are watching people in power, and their loyal enablers, fall in line while another piece of democratic substance is quietly dismantled. So the question is, does democracy still exist in substance, or only in name?

In our latest article, we share the thoughts that trouble us - on democracy, the rise of extremist ideologies, the manipulation of fear, and how fear rewrites reality.

Does Democracy Still Exist Beyond the Ballot? by Stephanie Kalavazidou, Communication and Impact Manager at RESET There is a strange contradiction at the heart of contemporary democracy, especially in Europe and North America. Ask people whether they believe in democratic values, and most will say yes, without hesitation.

If you are shaping policies, managing risk, protecting communities, or developing security solutions, this conversation concerns you.

The EU Conference on Public Space Security and Protection 2026 brings together European expertise and national authorities in a focused dialogue on the future of public space security.

Organized by the partners of the UNICOPS - CBRNE Protection for Higher Education Institutions and Virtuous Projects, two EU initiatives funded under the Internal Security Fund, the conference reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen safety across Europe through the development of holistic frameworks for prevention, protection, and response in public spaces.

More than 60 partners across Europe - including security experts, policymakers, law enforcement agencies, researchers, religious representatives, and industry innovators - will gather in Cyprus to exchange operational insights and engage directly with national authorities and strategic stakeholders.

This conference offers a unique opportunity to connect European-level research and policy development with practical, on-the-ground security realities.

📝 Participation is by registration only, and attendance is subject to confirmation.

Disabled people don’t need to be included. They need access to the same spaces as everyone else - by design.

The ParticiYou Adaptive Rock-Climbing Experience by RESET-Research and Education in Social Empowerment and Transformation, Cool Crips and United Sports Cyprus showed what happens when accessibility isn’t an afterthought. That’s the kind of sport worth building, and scaling.

Hear from Panayiotis Loizou, our Project Manager and Proposal Writer, on what took place on the day. Read more in our latest article.

RESET wrapped up a 3-day training for the urb.able project!

Partners from seven European countries came together in Limassol to learn, discuss and exchange ideas on how to make our cities more accessible for young people with disabilities.

Using participatory and co-creative methods, the project empowers youth, youth workers and policy makers with the tools, space and voice they need to reimagine urban life through inclusion and accessibility.

A huge thank you to all our amazing local collaborators for sharing their expertise and helping make this training a success.

Moments from the URB.ABLE training in Limassol.

Three days full of dialogue, idea-sharing and skill exchange. From hands-on workshops to screenings to guided tours, the training gave participants the opportunity to expand their understanding of youth-led initiatives, architectural barriers and inclusive urban design.

Limassol did not only act as the backdrop for this learning activity - it became a real-world case study onto which all these lessons were applied and extracted from.

About this initiative:
URB.ABLE is here to support young people in making their cities more accessible and inclusive.

A big thank you also goes to all of our collaborators who made this training possible.
