✨ Grammar Tip: Using Wish ✨

We use wish to talk about things that are not true now or things we regret.

💭 1️⃣ Present situations:
👉 I wish I were taller. (= I’m not taller.)

💭 2️⃣ Past situations:
👉 I wish I had studied more. (= I didn’t study enough.)

💭 3️⃣ Future situations:
👉 I wish it would stop raining. (= I want it to stop, but it’s still raining.)

🪄 Tip: After “wish,” we usually use a past tense verb — even though we’re not talking about the past!

It’s the perfect phrase for when things are fine… for now! 😉

🧐 Word Confusion: “Hear” vs “Listen”

Hear = to perceive sound with your ears (passive)
Listen = to give attention to a sound or someone speaking (active)

Examples:

I can hear the birds singing outside. (You notice the sound, but you might not be paying attention.)

Please listen carefully to the instructions. (You are actively focusing on the sound.)

💡 Tip: Hearing happens automatically; listening requires effort and attention.

💬 Question for you: Can you think of a situation where you hear but don’t really listen?
