Confide In 10/01/2022

There can be no flourishing without understanding our emotions and the emotions of others especially when it comes to children. To be able to understand the emotions of others we must first allow ourselves to feel our own emotions, understand, process them and effectively express them and regulate them. Check out this blog post by Valencia Myint, a kind psychologist, friend, humanitarian and volunteer who talks about emotions and shares with us the incredibly useful feeling wheel..

Confide In Yes, it’s a question that is asked a lot, and we don’t often stop to really think about the answer. But there is significant meaning behind the question itself.

Today we are celebrating the World Children's Day in commemoration of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child by the UN General Assembly in 1959.

If there's one meaningful thing we'll do today let it be to educate ourselves and others around us about the rights of ALL children in the world, and most importantly teach those rights to our children themselves.

Our little video with students from Class 4 and members from our Flourishing School Project, Ms Maria P. and Ms Karmelia Y. with the support of Ms Oxana L.

Big thank you to all the little stars who made their beautiful drawings!! 🌟🌟🌟

The Necessity of Finding More Ways to Praise 09/11/2021

Raise your praise teachers! 🌷👇

Things to try:

▪️A Praise chart (praise regularly but not without reason)
▪️Praise in public, correct in private
▪️Highlight specific actions (describe the praiseworthy behaviour)
▪️Avoid praising ability (praise children for what they do not who they are)

The Necessity of Finding More Ways to Praise Encouraging students is not enough, says a new study—you actually have to raise your ratio of praise to reprimands dramatically, and that might mean keeping track.
