Our Head of Banking and Finance department Prof. Dr. Salih KATIRCIOĞLU have made it to the "World's Most Influential Scientists" list, published on 4 October 2023. The list is coordinated by Stanford University, in collaboration with U.S. and Dutch scientists, and supported by the academic publishing firm Elsevier B.V. The list includes 210,198 scientists globally, sorted within the top 2% in terms of citations. This year saw an increase of 9,879 scientists compared to last year.

Prof. Dr. Salih Katırcıoğlu was Turkey's 58th most influential scientist, On the other hand, in the “Career-Long Impact List” announced within the scope of the report, Prof. Dr. Salih Katırcıoğlu was among the 55 thousand most influential scientists worldwide, and ranked 115th in Turkey.

Bankacılık ve Finans bölüm başkanımız Prof. Dr. Salih KATIRCIOĞLU, ABD Stanford Üniversitesi’nin koordinatörlüğünde ABD ve Hollandalı bilim insanlarından oluşan bir ekip tarafından yürütülen çalışma sonucunda 4 Ekim 2023 Çarşamba günü yayınlanan “Dünyanın En Etkili Bilim İnsanları” listesinde dünyanın en fazla atıf alan bilim insanları arasında yer alma başarısını gösterdi. Listenin oluşturulmasına önde gelen akademik yayın firmalarından Elsevier B.V. destek verdi. Listede 210 bin 198 bilim insanı dünyada %2’lik dilim içerisinde sıralandı. Prof. Dr. Salih Katırcıoğlu Türkiye’nin en etkin 58’inci bilim insanı oldu

Öte yandan, rapor kapsamında açıklanan Kariyer Boyu Etki Listesi’nde Prof. Dr. Salih Katırcıoğlu dünya genelinde en etkin 55 bin bilim insanı arasına girerken, Türkiye’de 115’inci sırada yer aldı.

13 Şubat 2023 tarihinde yapılan Senato Toplantısında 2022-23 Bahar Dönemi için aşağıdaki kararlar alınmıştır.

2022-23 Bahar Dönemi Akademik takvimi güncellenmiş olup yeni takvime göre 2022-23 Bahar döneminde kayıt ve ders onay işlemleri 27-28 Şubat 2023 tarihlerinde yapılırken dersler, 1 Mart 2023 tarihinde başlayacaktır.

Ancak, Türkiye’de meydana gelen depremde Ohal bölgesi ilan edilen 10 ilde veya Suriye’de ikamet eden öğrencilerimiz için;

*Ders kayıt ve onay işlemleri 14 Nisan 2023 tarihine kadar devam edecek. Bu öğrencilerimiz, önceden onay almadan veya başvuru yapmadan 14 Nisan 2023 tarihine kadar ders kayıt ve onay işlemlerini yapabileceklerdir.

*Bu öğrencilerimizden ayrıca, 14 Nisan 2023 tarihine kadar devam zorunluğu aranmayacaktır.

*Önümüzdeki günlerde KKTC Bakanlar Kurulu, YÖK ve/veya YÖDAK’ın alacağı kararlar doğrultusunda, yeni düzenlemeler olursa tekrardan sizlere duyurulacaktır.

Dear Academic Staff and Students,

Please be advised that the following decisions for the 2022-2023 Academic Year Spring Semester have been taken at a Senate meeting dated 13 February 2023.

The Academic Calendar for the 2022-23 Spring Semester has been updated and according to the new calendar, registration and course approval procedures for the 2022-23 Spring Semester will be carried out on 27 and 28 February 2023. Classes will commence on 1 March 2023.

Additionally, the following decisions have been taken for students residing in 10 provinces declared as State of Emergency zones after the earthquake in Turkey or Syria;

*Course registration and approval procedures will continue until 14 April 2023. Without prior approval or application, these students can carry out their course registration and approval procedures until 14 April 2023.

*No class attendance requirement will be sought for the said students until 14 April 2023.

*Kindly be informed that the future decisions, if any, of the TRNC Council of Ministers, Council of Higher Education and/or the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council will be communicated to you, accordingly.
