Today, news of a new package of support from Little Troopers for families in Cyprus went out to mailing lists. Link in comments case you missed it and know of anyone it might help.

As I say in the intro....I founded this charity 15 years ago when I was in desperate need of support myself. I made a promise then to always listen to the needs of military families and respond in a compassionate, practical way that truly helps, not with empty words.

I truly hope this goes some way to making a difference to those who need it right now.

Fitness Friday 💪

Our Acorns enjoyed a lovely walk in the community to discover natural resources to add in to their environment. The children had so much fun exploring and choosing where to place them in the room!

Think about it Thursday 🤔

For 3-year-olds, threading moves beyond simple discovery and becomes a foundational tool for pre-writing and early math. At this age, children gain the precision needed to handle thinner strings and smaller (though still age-appropriate) objects. How many opportunities does your child have at threading?

As part of our ongoing mission to keep refreshing and enhancing our environment, we are currently giving some of our areas a little vamp up, ready for the months ahead. We want our setting to continuously feel calm, natural, inspiring and full of curiosity for your children , and sometimes the most beautiful resources come from home or in nature.

We are kindly asking if any families may have the following items they no longer need (but we need desperately)

Loose parts (curtain rings, corks, jar lids, shells, stones, pine cones, big buttons, small baskets, wheels, locks, keys, fairy lights, old duvets and pillowcases)
Water cans
Seeds
Gardening tools - age appropriate
Glass jars (painting and creative exploration)
Different travel bottles
Perfume bottles
Wooden spoons
Wooden bowls
Small mirrors
Old Cd's
Whisks, spoons, bowls (preferably wooden or stainless steel)
Vases for flowers
Books suitable for our 0-3 and our after school clubbers from foundation to Year 1 - 6
Handbags, scarves, shoes, clothes, bangles, old watches - for dress up
Decorative parts that are in neutral tones (candle sticks, ornaments, picture frames)
Every year we aim to make our nursery even more gorgeous, engaging, and meaningful for the children.

Please bring your donations to reception and the children can thrive!

Well-being Wednesday✨

Puppets are highly effective, engaging tools for supporting development in babies and toddlers (ages 0-2), primarily because infants are biologically wired to respond to expressive faces and animated actions. They are non-threatening and capture attention easily, making them a fun and powerful educational aid.
