Last week Thursday, we wrapped up the three-day "Kingdom Conference on Care with Rights - Right to Care." It was an insightful gathering aimed at exploring potential improvements within the compulsory and forensic care framework.
As head of logistics, I was running up and down to ensure the organization went smoothly (supported by our professional IT consultant Vinod Daswani plus a great team of the Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature). This made it hard for me to follow all what was said and discussed but excited to play a role in this significant event and to see experts from across the Kingdom come together to brainstorm ways to improve care within these crucial frameworks.

Together, as the organizing team comprising Guzelien Hermans, Helen Verleg, Barry Fredema, our 2 moderators Annemarie Marchena-Slot, Mario Kleinmoedig, and Jeanine Constansia-Kook from GMN, Sophie Schutte form VWS orchestrated an event that provided immense value to all involved.

Thrilled to announce that the Kingdom Conference on 𝑲𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒅𝒐𝒎 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒏 "𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝑹𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 "𝑹𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒆" -- seeking improvement in the Compulsory and Forensic framework" -- has officially kicked off a few minutes ago!

As Head of Logistics and Communication prior and during this conference, I'm proud to be part of this significant event where experts from across the Kingdom come together to discuss ways to enhance care within the Compulsory and Forensic framework.

Gratitude to Guzelien Hermans, our valued team member in St. Maarten, for reaching out to me and ask to take on the project. I also extend thanks to the Ministry of Justice in the Netherlands and the Ministry of Health, Nature, and Environment in Curaçao for graciously welcoming me to the team and offering their trust and support.

In the world of oncology, the name Professor Bob Pinedo, born and raised in Curaçao, needs no introduction. Professor Pinedo's contributions to cancer treatment have made a profound impact, worldwide, earning him prestigious accolades and recognition. He is a renowned figure, a true beacon of knowledge and compassion.
It's a genuine honor to work alongside Prof. Pinedo. As our team prepares for an upcoming international medical conference in Curaçao, an initiative led by him, I eagerly stepped into the role of “lead communications” and "speaker liaison" for this global event. This project stands out as one of the highlights in my 15+ years of entrepreneurship.

Bringing together 44 top leaders from around the world, the conference focuses on invaluable insights in noncommunicable diseases, including diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular diseases. Much needed for Curacao, struggling with (a.o.) a very high incidence of diabetes and blood pressure patients.
