It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you of the passing of our beloved boardmember and friend Alexander Isings.
The board of TEDXCURACAO looks back to a wonderful, wise and goodspirited professional and moreover a great friend. We will miss him dearly. Our sincere condolences are extended to his two sons, family and friends.

They have created a new reality, they have proved that one small step can lead to magnificent change, and they were happy to share their ideas and inspiration as fuel for you!

Last Saturday night at Villa Maria in Scharloo boxes were smashed during TEDxCuraçao 2018. We can look back on a beautiful, inspirational and bustling evening. A big thank you to all our sponsors to make this event happening! And of course to you! We hope you had a blast and till next time!

Percussionist and performer Roël Calister already drummed on tins and everything he could drum on as a toddler. He has a percussion school at two locations in the Netherlands and travels around the world with his band Kuenta i Tambu (KiT), which combines traditional Caribbean Tambú with state-of-the-art electronics music. He studied international business and then went to the conservatory. The 14th Roël explains how music and rhythm occurs in everything in our lives and takes the audience into this interactive talk.

Curaçao’s Joeri Oltheten is a well-known, passionate entrepreneur on Curaçao. "My passion is to devise and implement creative solutions for complex challenges," says Oltheten. During TEDxCuraçao 2018 he will share how he helps small entrepreneurs on Curaçao at a micro-level to help grow their business.

Nathania Engelhardt recently completed her studies in communication sciences in Wageningen. She has recently returned to the island and is involved in debate education projects for young people. Nathania Engelhardt won a spot on the TEDxCuraçao 2018 podium by participating in the Speakers' Pitch on March 27th.

Joel Simonetti is co-founder of the non-profit organization Fintegrity, as well as a teacher, author and nature expert. Simonetti is a true idealist, with an unprecedented drive to secure the future of our ocean: "We have to stop using the ocean as a supermarket. Our oceans are getting emptier and the fish are getting smaller. We have to change how we treat the sea." During TEDxCuraçao 2018 he will explain his point of view with an engaging presentation.

According to her, she is a 'creative soul', who doesn’t allow herself to be limited by walking the path everyone else does.
