Curaçao is present at the ILCA 6 Youth World Championship!!!!

Our three YSCO ILCA 6 sailors and coaches Richendly, Christiaan and James are currently in Aarhus, Denmark with their coach Murat after months and months of intensive trainings and preparations to compete at the top level:

A total of approx 309 sailors from more than 40 countries will compete for the prize in the youth men fleets.

Kieler Woche 2026:

Twee van onze ILCA 6 teamleden (tevens coaches) Richendly en James zijn afgelopen vrijdag naar Kiel afgereisd samen met onze headcoach Murat.

Na heel veel intensieve trainingen, gaan de jongens daar samen met Fay (die ook stage heeft gedaan als coach bij ons afgelopen maanden 😊) meedoen aan 1 van de grotere zeilevenementen ter wereld (qua aantal participanten):

Op Curaçao geboren en in 2024 olympisch kampioene geworden: Odile van Aanholt keert terug op het WK na haar zwangerschap, met een nieuw team na een selectie van 80 kandidaten. “Ik vond het spannend om weer in de boot te stappen, maar ik kan het nog en vind het nog steeds leuk.”

C*C 2026!! ⛵️⛵️⛵️

Today was our 2nd day of races. During lunch our sailors enjoyed delicious Johnycakes sponsored by E Johnny Cake!!😋

Yesterday was our first day of races. ⛵️⛵️⛵️

A lot of wind, excitement and challenges!!

Yesterday we kicked of the Curaçao Youth Championships 2026 with the first day of the clinics ⛵️ followed by today's 2nd day of clinics.

For this year's edition of the C*C, besides sailors from Curaçao 🇨🇼, we also welcomed sailors from:
Aruba🇦🇼
Bonaire🇧🇶
St.Kitts 🇰🇳/ Canada 🇨🇦
USA 🇺🇲

Total of approximately 40 youth sailors and 8 coaches

During these 4 days of clinics, sailors will prepare for the races that will take place from Thursday until Saturday.

Optimist, ISCA (Sunfish) and ILCA (laser) classes

Accompanied by great sailing weather, our own coaches as well as coaches from the Netherlands, and lots of smiles, we had great first and second days of preparation for the upcoming races! ☀️⛵️
