Petnica Summer Institute is an international summer school at Petnica Science Center, focused on peer learning and research in four tracks: theoretical physics, phenomenology & astrophysics, experimental & applied physics, and ML for scientific research. It brings together early-career researchers for a unique program grounded in peer education and learning through research. PSI offers four parall
el academic tracks:
- Theoretical Physics
- Phenomenology & Astrophysics
- Experimental & Applied Physics
- Machine Learning for Scientific Research
Designed for final-year undergraduate and early graduate students, PSI features lectures by senior PhD candidates, postdocs, and established researchers from leading global institutions. The program includes not only lectures, but also collaborative discussions, problem-solving sessions, and independent project work. One of PSI’s core goals is to connect students of physics, astronomy, and engineering—especially from the Balkans and Southeast Europe—fostering academic exchange, regional collaboration, and international networking. Though its focus is regional, PSI welcomes participants from around the world, with past students coming from Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Set in the inspiring and informal environment of Petnica Science Center, PSI empowers young scientists to exchange ideas, sharpen their research skills, and build lasting academic connections.
