The BYU Public Health Association (BPHA) is a department-sponsored, student-run organization that seeks to create valuable connections among student members, Health Science faculty, and the community, while providing opportunities to gain real world public health experience. BPHA strives to develop meaningful opportunities for public health students in their various department tracks, which means
we often partner with county and state health departments, community-based health organizations like the American Cancer Society, and various campus clubs including the BYU Healthcare Management Association, the American Society of Safety Engineers BYU Chapter, and BYU Students for International Development to host activities. Students who join BPHA enjoy unique access to opportunities not available to other public health majors within the department. These include the ability to apply for special fellowships, attend conferences for free, and engage in resume-building activities. Joining BPHA is now easier than ever with our new online payment option! While we do not hold regular weekly meetings, you will be added to our BPHA listserv and receive weekly updates detailing the numerous activities we host each month as well as various other community and campus public health happenings. You can also check out our club updates or calendar to stay apprised of upcoming events. Public health students apply each spring for positions within the BPHA presidency which include one president, four vice-presidents, and various secretary, conference coordinator, and public relations positions. BPHA members are usually alerted to application dates during the months of March and April of each year.
