DokSrbija je sa žaljenjem primila vest da je Vlatko Gilić, velikan jugoslovenskog i svetskog dokumentarnog filma, preminuo u 91. godini.

Vlatko Gilić je prvi počasni član udruženja DokSrbija, a svojom velikom karijerom i vanvremenskim filmovima je obogatio jugoslovensku i svetsku filmsku zaostavštinu, a naročito istoriju dokumentarnog filma.

Njegovi filmovi su prikazivani i nagrađivani u glavnim programima festivala u Kanu, Berlinu, Oberhauzenu, a njegova vizuelna poetika i duboko humanistička tematika će zauvek ostati utisnuti u kolektivno sećanje čovečanstva.

Ovom prilikom izražavamo saučešće porodici, kao i poštovaocima umetnosti i dela Vlatka Gilića.

DOK Serbia has learned with great sorrow of the passing of Vlatko Gilić, a towering figure of Yugoslav and World cinema, at the age of 91.

Vlatko Gilić was the first honorary member of DOK Serbia. Through his extraordinary career and timeless films, he enriched the legacy of Yugoslav and world cinema, and above all the history of documentary filmmaking.

His films were screened and awarded in the main programmes of the Cannes, Berlin and Oberhausen film festivals, and his visual poetics and profoundly humanistic vision will forever remain imprinted in the collective memory of humanity.

We extend our condolences to his family, as well as to all admirers of Vlatko Gilić's art and work.

Applications are now open for the 22nd DOK Co-Pro Market, taking place on 26–27 October 2026 during DOK Industry in Leipzig.

For the first time, alongside creative documentary and animated documentary projects, fully animated feature projects are also eligible to apply.

The DOK Co-Pro Market connects producers with international decision-makers, financiers and potential co-production partners through curated one-to-one meetings and networking opportunities.

Who can apply?
• Creative documentary, animated documentary and fully animated feature projects
• Projects in development or early stages of production
• Feature-length films and creative series

𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮. 𝗖𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲.

Thousands of cinema professionals, including prominent directors, authors, actors and industry leaders from across Europe and beyond have come together around this simple but urgent message: Europe needs cinema. Cinema needs Europe.

They have signed an Open Letter calling on the European Commission, the European Parliament and Member States to preserve and reinforce the MEDIA programme as a major instrument of support for European independent cinema.

For more than 35 years, MEDIA has helped European stories travel across borders, supporting independent production, theatrical distribution, festivals, training, and a thriving audiovisual ecosystem across the continent.

⚠️ Today, that success story is under threat. As part of negotiations on the EU budget for 2028–2034, the European Commission proposes to integrate MEDIA into the new AgoraEU programme. While the overall budget may increase, the current proposal offers no guaranteed, dedicated funding for the film and audiovisual sector. The text remains vague with no assurance that the key actions that made MEDIA successful will continue.

The open letter celebrates MEDIA’s role in promoting cultural diversity, artistic freedom, jobs, innovation, and European soft power, and calls for the programme’s future to be secured and its resources to be reinforced.

At Cannes this year, the slogan 𝘌𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴 𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘮𝘢 will appear on badges worn by attendees, a small but visible sign of solidarity for European cinema.

This letter was initiated by a coalition of European associations, including CEPI, Europa International, Europa Distribution, European Producers Club, FERA - Federation of European Screen Directors, Society of Audiovisual Authors, ATC (Audiovisual Training Coalition) and Film and Audiovisual Markets in Europe (F.A.M.E.).

We invite filmmakers from Serbia and the region to apply for the 8th edition of the MakeCoProDox Forum, taking place from 25–27 August 2026 in Skopje.

The forum brings together selected projects with regional film centers, producers, mentors, and industry professionals for three days of project development, pitching, and networking.

Projekat je započeo svoj put na radionici 2017. godine.

𝙏𝙊 𝙃𝙊𝙇𝘿 𝘼 𝙈𝙊𝙐𝙉𝙏𝘼𝙄𝙉 wins at Sundance

We are very pleased to share that 𝙏𝙊 𝙃𝙊𝙇𝘿 𝘼 𝙈𝙊𝙐𝙉𝙏𝘼𝙄𝙉, directed by Biljana Tutorov & Petar Glomazić, has won the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize: Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival 2026.

The project began its journey at the Workshop in 2017, and it is a pleasure to see how far the film has travelled since then.

Congratulations to Biljana, Petar, the entire creative team, and to Gara and Nada, whose story and strength are at the heart of this film.
