ISB is a collaborative learning community that inspires, equips and empowers its students to succeed universities.

Founded in 1948 by the wife of the British Ambassador, Lady Peak, the Foreign Colony School was housed in two rented rooms at the American Mission. One staff member, assisted by mothers, taught elementary children using British texts. The wife of the American Ambassador became the first chairperson of the School Board in 1949. From 1950-1957, the School grew to be a K-8 school using American Force

ISB Career Fair 2026!
On Wednesday, we held our annual Career Fair for Grade 10 and 11 students. The event provides an opportunity for students to engage with professionals from a wide range of fields. This year, we hosted speakers working in diplomacy, finance, graphic design, theatre, the fashion industry, engineering, and archaeology. This variety ensures that all students can explore areas that interest them. We would like to thank all of our speakers, as well as the staff who supported this morning’s event.

Friday marked our seniors’ final official day of Grade 12. As they prepare for their final exams in May, we took a moment to celebrate this important milestone together.
On Wednesday, students gathered for their graduation photos, a light and enjoyable afternoon of posing, socialising, and capturing memories. It was a great opportunity to celebrate their journey and recognise the people who have supported them along the way. Wishing all of our soon-to-be graduates the best of luck on their finals. And remember, once a Dragon, always a Dragon!

Grade 3/Pre-K Building Collaboration
Collaboration between grade levels helps older students develop leadership, communication skills, and empathy, while younger students benefit from peer modeling, increased confidence, and exposure to more advanced language and thinking in a supportive environment. During an activity with Grade 3 and Pre K, students worked together in small teams to design and build structures, fostering creativity and shared learning. Working in groups encouraged students to share ideas, negotiate roles, and solve problems together throughout the design and building process.

Relationships at the Heart of Learning
In the ISB Early Years, our teachers have a deep understanding of each learner’s needs. Building relationships is at the heart of the work they do, ensuring that every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to grow.

Easter Egg Hunt at ISB Primary School
On Tuesday, the Easter Bunny made a special stop at our primary school, delivering chocolate treats to all our students. But it wasn’t as simple as picking up a bag of sweets, first, students had to hunt for eggs hidden around the school. Once they found the eggs, they could exchange them for a special bag of goodies. A big thank you to all the PTSA volunteers who helped make the morning so memorable!

DP Art Exhibition
Last Thursday, our DP students presented their artwork at Ostavinska Gallery to members of the ISB community. The exhibition showed students thinking critically, exploring ideas, and expressing their perspectives through a range of media. Their work reflected curiosity, reflection, and openness to different viewpoints, bringing our mission into practice. We are proud of our students and thankful to Ms. Skoric who supported them throughout this process.

A Special Guest Reading
It’s always a special moment when students welcome a guest reader. Recently, our school director, Dr. Marshall, visited a group of Grade 2 students to share a story. She read Begin With a Bee by Jacqueline Briggs Martin and Claudia McGehee, a beautifully illustrated book that explores the life of a bumblebee and encourages students to appreciate the vital role these pollinators play in our world.

Gr. 9 Night at the Museum
Students have been curating a selection of artworks to share with our community. This special event provided an opportunity to celebrate the hard work and creativity of our Grade 9 students, who have been developing video guides for selected artefacts displayed throughout the museum. Visitors were able to explore the exhibition while engaging with student-created content, gaining deeper insight into the themes, research, and stories behind each piece. The evening was a perfect way to showcase student voice, creativity, and critical thinking, and we are proud of the dedication and effort our students demonstrated in bringing this experience to life.

Cultural Perspectives at ISB
What makes learning truly come alive in our classrooms? It’s the people, the students whose experiences span cultures, countries, and even moments in history. That diversity transforms learning into something deeper and more meaningful.
