RE-LAUNCH OF "STRANAC ACADEMY" FUN NIGHT CLASSES (in English)

Morning everyone!

We're really happy to be announcing the relaunch of "Stranac Academy", night classes in English. All at the fancy new home of Share Square.

Stranac Academy started over four years ago and offered the opportunity to learn new skills, while having a bit of fun and socialising amongst the BFVC community. Today not much has changed except that the classes will now be held at the wonderful Share Square which almost seems purpose built for us. :-)

So we're kicking off with three classes: "Serbian Cooking" (gibanica, proja, kiflice and vanilice), "Tarot Cards & Fortune Telling", and "Photography for Beginners". All our teachers are friends and are members of the BFVC community. We love what they do and the passion with which they teach.

BFVC “STRANAC ACADEMY” A NEW FACE AND LOOKING FOR TEACHERS
Hi everyone,

Philomena O'Brien and Jules Kovacevic would like to give a very warm welcome to Gordana Zikic who will be taking over BFVC “Stranac Academy” as the project leader. We are grateful to Ivana Marinković who held the reins more than capably but who now lives overseas and simply doesn’t have the time to run the courses from afar. (Thanks Ivana for everything!!!)

Gordana has been teaching courses at BFVC “Stranac Academy” since it began, so she knows how things work. .. plus she also plans to introduce some new courses and a new perspective. Best of all, BFVC “Stranac Academy” classes will now be run out of Gordana’s studio right in the centre of town in “Center 424” at Kolarceva 4.

So... Stranac Academy will still be an endeavour of Belgrade Foreign Visitors Club, classes will still be in English – both for foreigners and Serbs who like being in international surroundings and using their English.

The first step for now is finding teachers for the next set of classes. If you are interested in teaching a course and think it might be suitable for BFVC “Stranac Academy” please email Gordana on [email protected]

FYI courses are run once a week, usually at night and run for about 2 hours.

I'm writing you just to introduce myself and to inform you that from now on BFVC “Stranac Academy” classes will be held in “Center 424” at Kolarceva 4. My name is Gordana Zikic and I am a visual artist from Belgrade. I am a co-founder of NGO Center 424 and artist in residency program in Belgrade. In our studio space we have guests international artists and different workshops, exhibitions and now also BFVC “Stranac Academy” courses.

Please email me if you're still interested in creating and teaching a course at BFVC “Stranac Academy” so that we can make a plan together about how many courses we will run and what the schedule will be.

Perks of signing up for the Serbian Language Course through Stranac Academy:
- You receive a present - a kit for preparing the Balkan coffee OR a pair of traditional woollen socks. In any case, it will be a warm and cozy term of Serbian language :-)
Serbian for foreigners are 40-hour group courses held twice a week, 90 minutes per class, over the course of three months (winter-spring term of 2017). The price is 30 000 dinars per student, in three monthly instalments.
