As we are getting closer to the summit in Rotterdam, the excitement is building!

Yesterday, we met online with 141 Rotary leaders from the 5 Rotary zones joining us for the Update Meeting on the Rotary European Action Summit 2026 in Rotterdam.

We shared the latest updates on the GELS and GNLS program, the three Friday morning seminars (Rotaract, Membership, TRF), the Summit program, the Major Donor Dinner and, of course, the amazing venue for our Gala Evening on Saturday: the iconic ss Rotterdam.

It was great to see the many “See you in Rotterdam!” messages popping up in the chat, while final questions were answered and the summit suddenly started to feel very real. We hope to see all of you in Rotterdam and bring a friend, everybody is very welcome.

Behind the scenes, preparations for the Rotary European Action Summit 2026 are in full swing and Rotterdam is getting closer.

We are so pleased that many of you have already registered. Thank you! We are really looking forward to welcoming you in September for a summit of inspiration, friendship, connection and action.

The Summit is built around the theme: TO BELONG – The Power of Connection and Action

Together, we will explore Literacy, Mental Health and Environment, meet in the House of Friendship, share ideas and strengthen connections across Europe.

And yes, there will also be time to enjoy Rotterdam. On Saturday evening, we will celebrate Rotary fellowship during the festive Gala Evening on board the ss Rotterdam.

Explore the Summit’s focus areas through outstanding speakers including Her Royal Highness Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands on Literacy, John Hewko, General Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation, on Mental Health, and **Bernice Notenboom, polar explorer and climate writer, on Environment.

And on Sunday, we are honoured to welcome Bana Alabed from Syria, the 16-year-old winner of the 2025 International Children’s Peace Prize.
