We travel the world to see its wonders, sometimes unaware that we have so many of them all around us, here in Serbia.

One of them is the fact that we can touch the Tower of Tsar Lazar with our own hands, walk in the footsteps of Serbian Princess Milica, run through the very place where Despot Stefan Lazarević once ran—the founder of Belgrade, a poet, and one of the most significant Serbian rulers.

We can visit places where Serbian princesses were educated, and where Jefimija lived and wrote, and stand in a church where the entire Serbian army once took communion.

We can also be in the place where the first Serbian female poet lived and wrote.

Join us for the lecture “Kosovo in Serbian Folk Tradition” to get to know our cultural heritage and literature.

Link for access to the lecture is in the description of our profiles.

We’ve created a beautiful Advent calendar for you!

By now, it’s clear that our Advent calendar this year won’t focus on the usual well-known aspects of Serbian culture like Cyrillic, Nikola Tesla, Novak Đoković, Nikola Jokić, Yugoslav cinema, or the ex-Yu rock and roll scene.

No, this time you’ll hear about people you may not have heard of, but who are just as unique as Tesla and Nole – perhaps not as widely recognized, but deserving of attention.

And secondly – this calendar will help you TRULY understand Serbs. You’ll learn why Kosovo is so important to us and why we celebrate what others consider defeat (The Battle of Kosovo, World War I). You’ll understand what we believe when we sing on bridges during bombing, why we are almost religiously opposed to Rio Tinto, and why we constantly protest and push for change.

What kind of people are we who seem to believe they are fighting against the whole world? Do we really fight, and against whom? These and many other topics will be explored in our Advent calendar.

Sign up now ([email protected]) and from December 1st to 24th, you’ll receive one such LESSON every day.
