Almost no one knows this, but I truly believe learning Spanish is not about speaking perfectly.
It’s about feeling at home in a place you chose to love.
For a long time, I thought my students needed more vocabulary, more practice, more corrections.
But then I understood something deeper.
Fear blocks more than grammar ever will.
I’ve seen brilliant, intelligent, successful people in their home countries…
freeze in front of a taxi driver in Costa Rica.
I’ve seen expats who love living here…
yet feel small when ordering food or making a simple phone call.
And that’s when I realized:
The problem wasn’t “not sounding native.”
It was the fear of making mistakes.
The pressure to be perfect.
The feeling of being judged.
That’s why my classes are not about perfection.
They are human.
They are conscious.
They move slowly when they need to.
They are real.
Without judgment.
Here, you don’t need to sound like a local to belong.
You need confidence.
You need context.
You need to feel that you’re learning from experience — not from fear.
In Costa Rica, I learned that language isn’t forced.
It’s lived.
You learn it walking, talking, breathing slowly, connecting with the land and the people.
Because when the body feels safe, the tongue relaxes.
Today, I teach so you can feel capable.
So you can feel comfortable.
So you can go to a soda, talk to a neighbor, or handle paperwork without anxiety.
Learning Spanish isn’t about impressing anyone.
It’s about integrating.
It’s about belonging.
It’s about living the true Pura Vida without feeling like an outsider.
And if you’ve ever felt silly, slow, or insecure speaking another language…
I want you to know something:
You weren’t incapable.
You were just learning from fear.
Here, we learn differently.
🌿 Here, we learn by living.
