Life lately… 🌿

School vacations, birthdays of some of the most important people in my life, and a little escape into the deep jungle of Costa Rica.

Days spent communing with wild animals, wild nature… and perhaps with the wild nature within ourselves too. 🐒🌿

Celebrating, exploring, laughing, resting, loving, and simply enjoying life to the fullest in the company of people I love.

There is something so important about these moments of stepping away. Not to escape life, but to return to it replenished.

And today, another cycle begins. Back to college, back to seeing clients, and Casa Om is opening its doors again for a couple of weeks before one more little adventure calls. ✨

Meanwhile, I’m also dreaming up the next chapter for Casa Om.

Alongside my deeper therapeutic and plant medicine retreats, I feel called to return to one of my oldest loves: Yoga. 🧘‍♀️

A retreat that is a little lighter. A space to practice, breathe, meditate, reconnect with the body, eat beautiful food, spend time in nature, laugh, rest, and remember that transformation doesn’t always have to come through digging deep.

Sometimes we grow simply by feeling fully alive. 🌺

New retreat dates are coming soon, including a new Yoga Retreat at Casa Om.

Stay tuned — I’ll be sharing them on my website very soon. 🌿✨

Happy 20th birthday to my beautiful daughter!!! ❤️✨

May you enter this new chapter of young adulthood in the most magnificent way.

Paris, your new apartment, and this whole new life ahead of you will be your wildest adventure yet — and I’m so excited to watch you navigate it all with the grace, strength, and beautiful spirit that are so uniquely yours.

You are the most beautiful daughter, inside and out, and I couldn’t be prouder of the young woman you have become.

Love you beyond words. ❤️

Happy 20s, my beautiful girl!!! 🥂✨🇫🇷 Bonne chance, mon amour… and remember: when life gets complicated, there’s always w**e, cheese and a croissant. 😂🥐🍷

☀️ Perfect enough.

One thing I feel I have overcome with age is a lot of the shame of not knowing, not being perfect, or being seen as a beginner.

I actually love learning new things.

These days, somewhere between therapy sessions, university, Casa Om, walks on the beach, and this beautiful Costa Rican life, I decided to learn how to rollerblade. 🛼😂

Am I good at it?

Not really.

Do I care?

Also not really. 😂

I’m learning. I fall, I laugh, I try again. And sometimes I even share it before I have mastered anything.

Because somewhere along the way, I stopped believing that we need to be experts before we are allowed to participate, create, teach, share, or simply enjoy ourselves.

There will always be someone who knows more than we do.

Someone more experienced.
More skilled.
More educated.
More graceful on rollerblades, for sure. 😂

But there will also always be someone a few steps behind us who might be inspired by what we already know—or simply by seeing us brave enough to begin.

I think there is so much freedom in accepting that we can be both teachers and students at the same time.

Maybe perfect enough is simply being fully here—as we are—learning, growing, falling, laughing, and trying again.

So here I am, living my little beach life between Casa Om and Santa Teresa, Costa Rica… studying psychology, working with clients, tending to my home, surfing little waves once every blue moon, and apparently learning how to rollerblade now. 🌴🛼🌊

Still learning.

Still sharing.

Still perfectly imperfect.

And somehow, always enough. ☀️

☀️ Who are you… beneath all the roles you play?

Lately, as I’ve been studying Carl Rogers at university, I found myself thinking back to the many years I spent immersed in Eastern philosophy.

The more I study psychology, the more I find beautiful meeting points between these two worlds.

The other day, while listening to Alan Watts speak about the illusion of the separate self, I couldn’t help but think of one of Rogers’ most profound ideas.

Although they came from very different traditions, they seem to be asking the same timeless question:

Who am I when I stop trying to become someone else?

Alan Watts reminds us that much of our suffering comes from identifying with the image we have created of ourselves—our labels, our stories, our achievements, our failures, the many roles we play.

Carl Rogers observed something remarkably similar through decades of psychotherapy.

He described the tension between our Real Self—who we genuinely are in this moment—and our Ideal Self—the person we believe we should become in order to be loved, accepted, successful, or simply “enough.”

The greater the distance between these two selves, the greater our inner conflict.

Rogers called healing congruence: the gradual process of aligning our lived experience with who we truly are.

Perhaps Alan Watts would describe that same journey differently—not as becoming a better version of ourselves, but as remembering that beneath all our conditioning, there was never anything fundamentally missing.

That thought has stayed with me.

Maybe healing isn’t about creating a new self.

Maybe it’s about gently peeling away everything that keeps us from experiencing the one that has always been there.

As I continue this journey of studying psychology after nearly three decades exploring Eastern philosophy, I don’t experience these traditions as opposites.

I experience them as two different languages trying to describe the same mystery.

Watts invites us to awaken beyond the illusion of who we think we are.

Rogers invites us to become honest enough to live as who we already are.

Perhaps healing is a little of both.

✨ After a full and beautiful season… ✨

After three retreats back-to-back, one hypnotherapy training, several one-on-one clients, and keeping up with university, I am finally taking a few days to rest, integrate, and simply be.

Now I’m slowly returning to my own rhythm—living as if every day were a retreat here in my little jungle fairy home at Casa Om. 🌿✨

The sun has been shining (quite unusual for July!), making this one of my favorite times of the year to experience a private therapeutic retreat. It is also butterfly season, and I can never ignore the beautiful symbolism they bring—gentle reminders of transformation, renewal, and becoming.

If you’ve been feeling called to visit Casa Om, this is a lovely time to come.

Please keep in mind that Casa Om will be closed for a couple of weeks at the end of August for a short vacation. July and the beginning of August still have availability, and Green Season retreat rates will return for September and October before we welcome the vibrant dry season once again.

A special thank you to all the wonderful women who gathered over these past retreats in Costa Rica’s beautiful cloud forest. It was such a different experience from the warm beach retreats I’m usually facilitating, and it was every bit as magical. 💚

And finally… I am happy to say that my calendar is now open again for Transpersonal Therapy sessions, both online and in person.

With love,

Blessed Be. 🙏

✨ A few moments from our latest Hypnotherapy Training at Casa Om. ✨

Deep gratitude to Luis Oliveira for coming to Casa Om for a private one-on-one hypnotherapy retreat and Level Two training (after completing the online portion of the course).

Over the past few days, we immersed ourselves in the art of facilitating hypnosis—exploring not only techniques, but also the presence, ethics, and responsibility that come with holding space for another person’s healing journey.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who generously volunteered as practice clients, making this learning experience so much richer.

I am also deeply grateful to my mentor, teacher, supervisor, and CEO of the Transpersonal Psychology Postgraduate Program, from Psicologia Transpessoal • Instituto Zen Ser Integral, for offering such an inspiring two-hour workshop on ethics, transference, and countertransference in therapy. It was a beautiful reminder that becoming a good therapist is about so much more than learning techniques—it is a lifelong path of self-awareness, integrity, and continuous learning.

This was my very first private one-on-one training, taught in both Portuguese and English, and I couldn’t be happier with how it unfolded. Every training reminds me that while I have the privilege of teaching, I am also constantly learning alongside my students.

Blessed Be. 🌿

I often find it difficult to write posts promoting my therapy work because protecting my clients’ privacy is something I take very seriously. For that reason, there are very few photos of the actual therapeutic work itself.

Every now and then, however, I receive kind words in the form of testimonials, and with permission and anonymity preserved, I am able to share a glimpse of the impact this work can have.

Alongside these testimonials, you’ll mostly find little snapshots of my life here in the Costa Rican jungle: moments from running a small healing arts business, tending a home and garden, caring for my new puppy, exploring herbal medicine, gathering in community, enjoying music, and honoring the simple rituals that make life meaningful.

I believe that if I wish to inspire others toward greater well-being, I must first do my best to embody those principles myself.

This reminds me of an old story about a Tibetan monk. A mother once brought her daughter to him and asked him to tell the child to stop eating sugar. The monk replied, “Come back in one week.”

A week later they returned. The monk looked at the girl and simply said, “You should stop eating sugar.”

Slightly disappointed, the mother asked, “Is that all? We waited an entire week for those few words?”

The monk smiled and replied, “I needed that week to stop eating sugar myself, so I could speak from experience.”

Of course, I am also reminded of Chiron, the wounded healer from Greek mythology. His story teaches us that we do not need to be perfect in order to help others. In fact, Chiron possessed the gift of healing others, yet could not heal his own wound.

Perhaps that is the lesson: not perfection, but sincerity.

We are all works in progress. We stumble, learn, heal, and begin again. And in our imperfections, we continue doing our best to grow into the most authentic version of ourselves—one step, one lesson, and one day at a time. ✨

🧑‍🎓 The incredible feeling of completing a project…
Some projects are short-term, others take years of devotion, discipline, and patience. Personally, I love the challenge of giving myself the time and dedication needed to truly learn, refine my skills, and grow. 👩‍🎓

Since 2017, I have been deeply immersed in the study of Transpersonal Psychology, beginning with my first module in Holotropic Breathwork & Transpersonal Psychology through Stan Grof’s training.

Since then, nearly a decade has been devoted to the study of the psyche, consciousness, and human transformation.

I have now completed all 4 mandatory modules plus 1 optional module — totaling 5 out of 7 modules toward certification. Along this path, I also completed:
✨ 6 months of Integral Psychology
✨ 9 months of Carl Jung Depth Psychology
✨ A 2-year postgraduate specialization in Transpersonal Psychology
✨ 9 months of mandatory clinical supervision

And now… I can finally wear the hat of a Transpersonal Therapist. 🤍

I feel deeply grateful for this training and for the incredible teachers who guided me through it — true masters in their craft, generous in wisdom and experience.

Out of both my desire to serve others in the best way I can, and my endless curiosity and trust in knowledge (very Aquarian of me ♒️), I continue studying and learning new ways to support healing and human development.

Some close friends also know that I recently began another journey: my second quarter of university studies in Clinical Psychology — likely another 5+ years of learning ahead. And honestly… I love that.
Let’s see where the winds take me.

After nearly 30 years studying and practicing the art, philosophy, and science of yoga, I realize my fascination with understanding the human mind has never changed. It has only expanded — blending Eastern and Western schools of thought, together with somatic, transpersonal, and shamanic approaches, in an ongoing exploration of consciousness, healing, and the mysteries of existence itself. ✨
