ULACIT strengthened its international positioning through an academic tour across Germany focused on universities of applied sciences, innovation ecosystems, and strategic industries connected to engineering, technology, business, and global employability.🌍

The tour included visits and meetings in key cities such as Hamburg, Cologne, Essen, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Mannheim, Darmstadt, Würzburg, Nuremberg, and Munich. All this regions recognized for sectors ranging from logistics and global trade to advanced manufacturing, software, automotive technology, and industrial innovation.

Beyond institutional outreach, the initiative opened new opportunities for Study Abroad, academic mobility, international short programs, and potential pathways toward English-taught master’s degrees in Germany, particularly in areas such as Industrial Engineering, Business, Marketing, Artificial Intelligence, IT, Data & Applied Business, and modern manufacturing. 🎓

One of the strongest points of alignment identified during the tour was the connection between ULACIT’s educational model and the German Hochschule approach, centered on applied learning, industry integration, project-based education, and professional competencies—elements increasingly valued in global higher education systems.

Some of these initiatives could begin implementation by 2027 as cooperation processes advance, reinforcing ULACIT’s role as a strategic academic partner for European universities interested in Latin America and in globally connected education with a practical, employability-driven focus.🚀

Costa Rica experienced today one of the most significant moments in its democratic tradition with the inauguration of Laura Fernández as the country’s 50th president and the second woman in our history to assume the presidency.

Within this national context, ULACIT participated in two high-level institutional events related to the presidential transition. The first was this Thursday, during a diplomatic protocol reception organized by Costa Rica’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, bringing together representatives from the diplomatic corps, government authorities, and international organizations.

Today, ULACIT students also participated in the official Transfer of Powers ceremony. Across both activities, a total of 25 students from programs such as Law, International Relations, and Engineering represented the university in spaces connected to diplomacy, institutional protocol, and democratic transition.

Beyond institutional presence, these experiences reflect a broader academic vision: preparing students capable of understanding political, social, and international dynamics from a critical, ethical, and multidisciplinary perspective. Participating in spaces tied to democratic processes reinforces leadership, civic responsibility, and professional formation beyond the classroom.

For the students involved, being part of this historic moment represented both an honor and a responsibility—contributing, even from protocol and institutional roles, to one of the democratic traditions that most distinguishes Costa Rica globally.

From the field of Computer Engineering, ULACIT students Wilberth Rodríguez and Andres Alvarado, together with Fundación Santa Teresa - Funsate Aldife, developed GloM as part of their TCU project, a digital platform that reflects how today technology and innovation can directly contribute to strengthening educational accessibility in Costa Rica. 📚💻

Designed initially for fifth and sixth grade school students, the platform focuses on strengthening learning processes through cognitive reinforcement tools, with projections to eventually expand from school through high school levels nationwide.

In this video, the students explain the vision and functionality behind GloM, while Alessio M Mazzetto, president of Fundación Santa Teresa Aldife, highlights the impact that ULACIT generates in the national educational sector through initiatives led by its students and developed in collaboration with community organizations. 🤝

Experiences like this reinforce the great value of TCU as spaces where academic training, applied technology, and social impact converge to generate solutions connected to real national challenges.
