Conocernos en nuestro más profundo interior, aún con las luces y sombras nos lleva a un entendimiento y un refugio que nadie nos puede quitar, porque me conozco, me veo y no tengo miedo de que alguien más no lo haga, no tengo miedo de que alguien no vea lo que valgo, porque yo ya lo hice, ya me vi, ya me escuché, ya me valoré, ya construí ese lugar seguro dentro de mí…ya no necesito que me rescaten. No temas al abandono, porque te tenés a vos misma, no temas que no te amen, porque vos lo estás haciendo, no temas…porque la compañía que más te conoce, la que es eterna y nunca te abandonará, está dentro tuyo y siempre te acompañará, solamente tenés que escucharla, nutrirla y amarla, ella está ahí. “Los compañeros de clase eran como mis hijos y nietos”

Doña Julia Hernández Camacho a sus 63 años tuvo la oportunidad de matricular Talla en Madera en el INA de Los Santos y ni lo pensó dos veces para ir a clase y así empezar a construir su sueño de diseñar y crear artesanías con el sello e identidad de la zona.

Primero llevó Diseño, siguió con un curso virtual y finalmente fue aceptada en lo que ella anhelaba. “Por mi edad yo veía a los compañeros de clase como hijos y nietos. Me encantó la experiencia, aprendí mucho. Yo cambié mucho gracias a todo lo aprendido en el INA”, indicó esta madre de 7 hijos.

Su objetivo es formar parte de un emprendimiento familiar. “Mis hermanas y sobrinas quieren abrir un local para una cafetería y vender manualidad y artesanías y como también me gusta la cocina y recibí un curso en el INA, podré trabajar haciendo de todo un poquito”.

Se mostró muy agradecida con el docente, Carlos Jiménez, por todo lo que le enseñó y por ayudarla a dar un paso más en su realización personal como artesana de la madera.

Here are some tips on using Gabito Spanish book:

1. Cut and color the nouns, adjectives, prepositions, and verb cards.
2. Cut and color one of the board games on the book.
3. We suggest having dice to play.
4. Read the lesson and complete the practice. (answers sheet is at the end of the book).
5. Practice what you learn by playing games like create sentences, conversations, you can use an extra piece of paper to write your own sentences.
6. We recommend having a small price to encourage the students when they get to the finish line... Examples are (stickers, pencils, etc...)

Let's meet the authors, two mothers who made Gabito Español come alive:

Ma. Andrea Chaves studied Fine Arts and Architectural Drawing at the University of Costa Rica where she met and became lifelong friends with Ingrid. Later, she obtained a license in the Educational Sciences from the Castro Carazo University. She has more than 20 years of pedagogical experience with the Ministry of Education of Costa Rica. Andrea lives in San José, Costa Rica. Her son Gabriel lives on in her heart. This book is dedicated to him.
Ingrid Villalta studied fine arts at the University of Costa Rica and later obtained a Master's degree in Digital Media and Animation from Northeastern University in Boston. With more than 15 years of experience creating educational materials, book layouts, and illustrations, she has also tutored Spanish extensively in the USA. Ingrid lives in Round Rock, Texas with her husband Jeff and twin boys Andrés and Diego.
