Our Third Grade students are putting their reading and writing skills into action as they investigate a mysterious case. Working cooperatively, they are developing analytical and logical thinking, while creating questions to interview the “suspects” and uncover the truth.

DÍA 2 | GSD OLYMPICS 🏅🌎

¡Hoy es el segundo día de nuestras Olimpiadas GSD y toca el turno a primaria! 🥁✨

Ayer arrancamos estos tres días de fiesta olímpica con una inauguración espectacular que nos dejó un momento inolvidable: toda nuestra comunidad cantando al unísono “We Are the World”. 🌍❤️

Una canción que nos recordó que, más allá de las competencias, somos una sola comunidad, un solo equipo y un mismo mundo.

Today is the second day of our GSD Olympics, and it’s time for Elementary!🥁✨

Yesterday, we kicked off these three days of Olympic celebration with a spectacular opening ceremony that gave us an unforgettable moment: our entire community singing “We Are the World” together, as one. 🌍❤️

A song that reminded us that beyond competition, we are one community, one team, and one world.

🏅🌎 Let the GSD Sports Olympics begin!

Our Early Childhood students enjoyed an unforgettable day filled with energy, smiles and true sportsmanship, guided by a motto that says it all: Play fair, play fun. 💙

And if the opening ceremony was spectacular, just imagine what came next! 🌎🔥 16 countries came together, celebrating the diversity and international spirit that make our GSD community so special.

Every year, the GSD Sports Olympics bring together students from all stages of our community through different sports and disciplines. But beyond competition, these Olympics are about learning to respect, share, challenge ourselves, enjoy the moment and celebrate one another.

For our youngest athletes, every race, every jump and every cheer was a little victory worth celebrating. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️✨

Because at GSD, winning also means playing fair, having fun and growing together. 🏆💙

🏅🌎 ¡Que comiencen las Olimpiadas Deportivas GSD!

En Preescolar vivimos una jornada llena de energía, sonrisas y muchísimo espíritu deportivo bajo un lema que lo resume todo: Jugar limpio, jugar divertido. 💙

Y si la inauguración fue espectacular, ¡imaginen todo lo que vino después! 🌎🔥 16 países se hicieron presentes, representando la diversidad y el espíritu internacional que hacen única a nuestra comunidad GSD.

Como cada año, nuestras Olimpiadas reúnen a estudiantes de todas las etapas para celebrar el deporte a través de diferentes disciplinas, pero también para aprender lo que realmente significa competir: respetar, compartir, esforzarse, disfrutar y celebrar al otro.

En Preescolar, cada carrera, cada salto y cada aplauso fue una pequeña gran victoria. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️✨

♟️ SMART MOVES AMERICAS 2026 | Chess that transforms education

GSD International School was honored at the first edition of the Smart Moves Americas School Awards with the Best Implementation of Educational Chess award.

This recognition celebrates our commitment to making chess an integral part of the GSD curriculum, empowering students to think strategically, solve problems, create, and grow—one move at a time. ❤️♟️

Representing GSD at the ceremony were General Director, Juan Barrilero, Deputy Director Iñaki Díez, and Chess Teacher Natalia Lobo. The event brought together leading figures in chess, including Luis Eduardo Quirós, President of the Costa Rican Chess Federation; Timor Turlov, President of the International Educational Chess Federation; and Mauricio Arias, President of the Education Commission of the Chess Confederation of the Americas.

🏆 We celebrate this achievement and continue moving forward, making history one move at a time.

GSD International School fue galardonado en la primera edición de los Smart Moves Americas School Awards con el reconocimiento a Mejor Implementación del Ajedrez Educativo.

Este premio celebra nuestro compromiso con hacer del ajedrez una parte integral del currículo de GSD, una herramienta que impulsa a nuestros estudiantes a pensar estratégicamente, resolver problemas, crear y crecer. ❤️♟️

En representación de GSD participaron nuestro Director Gerente Juan Barrilero, el Director Adjunto Iñaki Díez y nuestra profesora de Ajedrez Natalia Lobo. 🚨 Safety and prevention are part of our culture at GSD!!

Our entire community participated in the 8th National Emergency Evacuation Drill, led by Costa Rica’s National Emergency Commission (CNE).

Students and staff successfully activated our emergency protocols and achieved an efficient evacuation time across all school levels.

At GSD, we work alongside ECOS, our external safety consultants, to continuously strengthen our emergency and safety protocols.

Prepared today. Ready for tomorrow. 💪🏼

Toda nuestra comunidad participó en la 8.ª edición del Simulacro Nacional de Evacuación, liderado por la Comisión Nacional de Emergencias (CNE).

Estudiantes y personal activaron exitosamente nuestros protocolos de emergencia, logrando un tiempo de evacuación eficiente en todas las etapas.

En GSD trabajamos junto a ECOS, nuestra consultoría externa en seguridad, para fortalecer continuamente nuestros protocolos.
