The vultures led me to the remains. 2nd sheep taken this month. After preventing the dogs, coyotes, wildcats, and vampire bats from predating. Humans pose a new more challenging problem. Our poor little flock is sad.

Foster mom hatches hope for patos. When the last female duck disappeared, she left behind eggs that we put under the chick sitting on one egg for about two weeks too. Three ducklings hatched. She seems a little ambivalent, wondering about their attraction to water. But making the best of it.
