The kids joined us for one last adventure. Starting at 5 pm, we played games like Blindfold, Minefield, and Spiderweb. After lots of laughter and a little bit of rain, we joined inside the house for dinner. Homemade hamburgers and buns, courtesy of Jonny! Very tasty, huh? We closed the evening with singing and storytelling around the fire.
Our time together was great, we loved learning with you and sharing laughter, dreams. We'll see you around the house for Tutoring and Soccer for the rest of the month. After that, we leave you with a great and strong hug and a see you later!
Las chicas y chicos se nos unieron para una última aventura. Empezamos a las 5 de la tarde, jugando con los ojos vendados, Terreno Minado, y Tela de Araña. Después de muchas risas y un poquitín de lluvia, nos reunimos adentro de la casa para la cena. ¡Disfrutamos de las deliciosas hamburgesas y pan hecho en casa de Jonny! Delicioso, ¿no? Cerramos la noche con cantos y cuentos alrededor de la fogata.
El tiempo con ustedes fue genial, nos encantó aprender con ustedes y compartir risa, sueños. Nos vemos en la casa para Tutorías y Futbol en la canchita, por lo que resta del mes. Después de eso, ¡les dejamos un gran y fuerte abrazo y un nos vemos!

Las chicas y chicos nos ayudaron a sembrar varias plantas y arbustos nativas. Sembramos moras, lantana (cinco negritos) y botón de oro, entre otros.
¡Machetes, palas y mucho trabajo fuerte! Pero tambien aprendimos y recordamos la importancia de ser gentiles con las plantas.
The girls and boys helped us plant several native plants and bushes. We planted berries, lantana, and many more.
Machetes, shovels, and lots of hard work! But we also learned and revisisted the importance of being gentle with plants.

Saturday July 20th, we visited Finca Caprina in Cartago. The aim of this visit was to get the kids thinking about organic farming and sustainable ways of producing food.
We also had fun feeding goats, playing with rabbits, horses, ducks, turkeys, and eating freshly produced goat cheese and ice cream.

On Tuesday July 16th, we painted the walls of Casa Adobe with kids from Santa Rosa. It was the first time for most of the kids (and some adults) to paint a mural. All the painting was done with hand marks. The kids were very proud of their work and were excited to undertake a similar activity in their homes when they get the opportunity to. Thanks to Bola Bola for their cooperation and thanks to all the people who have joined us. Thanks to you all who follow us. To quote ourselves: "everyone is an artist."

On Wednesday and Thursday, Jonny and Abdi with friends took several kids with their parents to clear out new garden space plant fruit trees in a place that used to be rain forest. Many other fun activities followed such bonfire, swimming, storytelling and fruitful conversations. It was the first time for all the kids to camp out and do tedious manual labor. "We loads of fun" they said!
