Now Hiring: Part-Time Educational Support (with Growth Potential)

Ceiba Nova is seeking an individual who is eager to grow and learn through hands-on experience. This part-time position offers the potential to expand into a full-time role.

The ideal candidate:
• Enjoys working with children and individuals with diverse abilities
• Has patience, energy, and a sense of play
• Is comfortable getting messy (mud, sand, paint, and all!)
• Is open to ongoing training—fully funded by Ceiba Nova—in trauma-informed education, behavioral development, disability supports, and Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS)

While this position does not offer a high starting wage, it includes paid time off and paid sick days. There are no specific educational requirements, but applicants must pass a background check showing no history of violence, abuse, or crimes involving children.

Role Summary:
The support role involves working with 1–2 students at a time, assisting with academic and elective activities. You’ll help redirect students, play structured learning games (provided in advance), and participate in outdoor or play-based activities. You’ll function as a teacher’s assistant—no lesson planning required.

Language:
Fluency in English or Spanish required; bilingual candidates preferred.

The first week of our current Phase (we have a fluid schedule of 10 weeks learning followed by 2 weeks of break operating year round) brought challenges and incredible achievements already.

A child’s imagine is one of the most extraordinary and precious things in the world. Their creativity can be innovative and revolutionary with guidance, support, and active listening. Every intellect can grow, every child deserves to be heard, fostered, and believed in. We look forward to sharing free family resources, library access, and more in the near future regardless of whether your child is enrolled in our program.

Today’s family challenge: Find something silly on Art Hub for Kids (free YouTube access) to draw together. Compare your art and show your kids that you can still learn new things as an adult, maybe make mistakes, be imperfect, and still have fun, be joyful, and grow as an individual.

Please note that we don’t post photos of our Explorers because we don’t believe children should be exploited for what amounts to advertising and minors should have consent in the distribution of their likeness. Occasionally, we may share photos of older students in specific circumstances with their consent, parent approval, and compensation.

Do you know there are at least three (usually many more) ways to do every type of arithmetic?!

Who in your family struggles with math? It shouldn't be a struggle because we are mathematical creatures. It gets hard when others tell us we have to "learn" it and tell us that it's not going to be easy. It gets hard when the real-life application & need is stripped from the teaching & learning. Do you use algebra everyday? Yes, you do - even if you don't recognize it as such. You don't even think about it because it isn't actually hard.

Ceiba Nova is founded in learning by doing and making sure everyone has the opportunity to learn through multiple means of exposure & exploration. This way, our students use critical thinking to determine which methods work best for them or work best in certain situations.
