Standing before this work by Taryn Simon, I remember how exciting it was to be a child, waiting to be bigger and older each year.

First I was 3! Then I was 7! Then I was 16! … Then I was 50… and th en I was 81!

Goodbye, Croatia, and thank you 🙏🏽 We’re flying away as the sun rises, reflected in the crystal clear water.

I’ll miss the wonderful people, new friends, and the azure sea when we land in New York! 💙

Today, October 7, I’m remembering these women and the lives they lost a thousand days ago. I grieve for them, and for all women and families whose lives have been shattered in zones of conflict.

In the world as it is, women face particular dangers. As I grow older, I feel an ever stronger need to support women for our safety, our freedom, our power, and our right to live without fear.

In the deepest moments of my life, I’ve known a love that connects everything living. Even now, with so much heartbreak, I hold onto the hope that caring can reach across our differences.

Our survival, peace, and a flourishing future on this planet depend on learning to connect and care about one another. I want to learn to keep learning, no matter what. ❤️‍🩹💔❤️‍🔥

Our wonderful Captain Branimir is a deep, wise, funny man - a great dancer, too 🕺. He is part of generations of skippers in his family, rooted in the land and sea of Croatia. Jack and I were surprised to learn he is only 26!

Jack and our friend Fiona Hancock shared teaching a workshop on past lives, then Fiona and me in the ancient town of Korčula.

Tomorrow I’ll post some photos of the boat we are on in Croatia, leading a group down the coast 💙
