GoBeyond, South Africa Edition🌍🇿🇦✈️
A total of ten grade 10 and 11 students have embarked on an international adventure that’s pushing them to grow both inside and outside the classroom. From Durban Girls’ College, Clifton Boys’ School, Hilton College, and Michaelhouse, they are immersing themselves in a new culture, educational systems, and challenges that are strengthening their character and forging a real global perspective.

For some students, the initial days of the trip included an unforgettable two-day safari. This wasn’t just a chance to see incredible African wildlife, such as the critically endangered black rhino, but also an opportunity to build teamwork and learn to adapt to challenging conditions.
The adventure then shifted to a day of social service, where they connected with local communities, spending time with families and children. This created a meaningful exchange that will leave a lasting impression on the students involved. 🦒🐘🤝

This is our motto in action! We Unite Peoples and Cultures Through Education! And it’s possible thanks to our Experiential Education Programme, “GoBeyond - Step Into the Unknown”.

Teacher development from the get go in 2025-2026! 🙌 ⚙️

The year is off to an energetic start! Fifty members of our academic staff are currently in training with two international IB experts, Jimena Taboada and Anne Grisham, on Teacher Competency Development, ensuring we continue to offer our students the best possible teaching and learning experience. Our staff, as our students, are lifelong learners!

We know how enriching these group discussions can be. Bouncing off ideas, concepts, opinions and tips between colleagues from different sections will definitely bear fruit once our students arrive on August 20th.

A celebration of heart and commitment 🎉

This morning we celebrated our Quinquennials 2025 Ceremony, honouring the dedication, long service, and commitment of those who have been with us for 5, 10, 15, 20, and even 25 years! Every step, every action, and every lesson taught by them has left its mark on our history, helping to shape the CCB community we are today.

The ceremony was filled with incredibly meaningful moments right from the start. We sang the CCB anthem arm-in-arm, proudly applauded our honourees, and finished by singing and dancing together to the lively tunes of the school’s teachers’ orchestra, which really had the auditorium buzzing with energy! Leaders, teachers, and staff all danced to the rhythm of salsa, united as the large family we truly are!

We also paid a special tribute to those who are moving on this year. Although their journeys are taking new directions, CCB will always remain their second home, and we, their family.

Thank you for your love and your unwavering dedication! We wish them all the very best for
their future endeavours!

The 2024-2025 academic year has been a truly historic one. It had its share of ups and
downs, difficult periods and truly sublime moments. What’s certain is that, as a school, we are stronger today. We’re grateful for the challenges we’ve faced and full of hope for what the future holds for us in 2025-2026.

A big thank you to the Human Resources Department for organising such a warm and
personal event. It was a perfect way to conclude a year that has left us with powerful
lessons. We live, we grow, and we celebrate as one Corazón Colombo.

Reimagining the Classroom 🛠️📐💡

Our Grade 10 IB’s Middle Years Programme (MYP) Product Design students have truly become architects of change! After carrying out a market research survey with 87 students and nearly 30 teachers, they’ve developed amazing and innovative proposals to transform the traditional classroom. Their goal? To create a learning space that reflects the MYP’s teaching and learning principles like dynamic, non-hierarchical, close-knit, and collaborative learning.

Imagine future classrooms with modular furniture, warm lighting, comfy spots for bookbags, and even a cozy reading corner! 📚🛋️ Every single element has been thought through to create a flexible, welcoming environment that works for both students and teachers. Nothing left to chance with these designers!

This project encouraged our students to apply their know-how in a real-world setting. By designing spaces that fit their own experiences and needs, they’re exercising their creativity, testing their knowledge, and becoming true agents of change within our school community. How brilliant is that?! 🎉

Plus -and it’s a big plus!- we’re thrilled to share that these proposals have been officially approved! Soon, Room 19 in the Secondary Section will undergo an extreme makeover following the vision of our young product designers.

This Sunday, June 8th, it’s time for our CCB Lion Run!

We will be handing out race kits on Saturday, June 7th, from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm at CCB’s Cafeteria.
