"Present Simple". 19/11/2022

"Present Simple".

Hello children, good afternoon, today we are going to learn the present simple together.

Very well children, now we are going to remember some important qualities of this theme.
The construction of the Present Simple in English is really easy, it has the structure (formula):

SUBJECT + VERB + COMPLEMENT
(NOUN) (VERB) (COMPLEMENT)

-It is the tense that we use to express routines, also, to express general truths, that is, scientific facts or facts that always occur.
The example he mentioned to us are:

“I wake up at 8 every day”
“The Earth goes around the sun”
“Ruth lives in Ibiza”

AFFIRMATIVE

In its affirmative form we will put the SUBJECT + VERB in the infinitive (without the 'To'). In the third person singular (He, She, It) an 's' is added to the end of the verb. That is to say that the present of the verb "TO PLAY" (Play) would be:
i play
you play
He plays
She plays
she plays it
We play
you play
they play
To add that "s" of the third person you have to follow some rules:
Verbs ending in -y (except those preceded by a vowel) change to -ies. For example, the third person of the verb Try (to try) will be Tries. But in Play, since it is preceded by a vowel, it will be Plays.
·Verbs ending in -x, -sh, -ch, -ss change to -es. For example, the third person of Cross (to cross) is Crosses.
·For verbs ending in -o we add -es. For example, the third person of Go (to go) is Goes.

NEGATIVE FORM

The negative form is formed with SUBJECT + DON'T (or DOESN'T if it is 3rd person). For example, the negative form of the present simple of the verb TO EAT (Comer) would be:
I don't eat
you don't eat
He doesn't eat
She doesn't eat
She does not eat
We don't eat
you don't eat
They don't eat

INTERROGATIVE FORM

As for the interrogative form, it is formed with DO (or DOES in the 3rd person) + SUBJECT + VERB. For example. The interrogative form of the present simple of the verb TO GO (Ir) would be:
Do I go?
Do you go?
Does he go?
Does she go?
Does it go?
where we go
Do you go?
do they go?

Subject and Object Pronouns 19/11/2022

"Subject Pronouns and Object Pronouns".

Hello children, good evening, today we are going to learn subject pronouns and object pronouns in English together.
attention, the personal pronouns depending on the subject are generally placed at the beginning of the sentence, and they are the "actors", those who perform the action of the verb. In general, they will not be translated into Spanish, for the reasons that were found in this entry: in our language we already have the verbal ending, to indicate who performs the action, so using the pronoun in Spanish is necessary in most cases. the times.

We observe the following image to pronounce and know its writing.

xamples:
• We speak English (we speak English).
• She watches TV (she watches TV – here we do translate the pronoun because the third person can be both feminine and masculine).
• I believe in miracles (I believe in miracles)

On the other hand, the personal object pronouns can function as a direct or indirect complement, and the action of the verb falls on them. When in the same sentence, two personal object pronouns coincide, one as a direct object and the other as an indirect object, the first is placed after the verb, the indirect is second, normally accompanied by the prepositions to or for.
Curiously, in a normal sentence in which two objects coincide, these are not pronouns (or only one is), the most common order is the reverse (first the indirect and then the direct, without the need for the preposition).

Examples:
Pikachu, I choose you (Pikachu, I choose you)
Leave it all to me (Leave it all to me / I take care of everything. Here we have an example of a sentence with two objects, the direct it and the indirect me, preceded by the preposition to. The first translation is the most literal, the Second, the one that convinces me the most. We'll talk about translations later...)
I don't believe in UFOs, because I have never seen them.
