The School of Filmmaking in Medellin is bilingual (Spanish and English) and provides the basic knowledge for producing and directing film, providing the students not only the knowledge from experienced teachers who work in the industry, but also the experience by means of different practical activities with professional equipment and real projects. The students will not only acquire theoretical knowledge, but also the experience of having worked on at least five (5) short films and having written, directed and produced one of them. Practical experience is one of the most valuable assets taken into account in the film industry as well as in other media. Additionally, the School of Filmmaking offers a broad look at art and theology, offering students the opportunity to understand God's purpose for the art of film and the calling God has given Christians to go into the film industry and how this can be a part of completing the Great Commission. The school is designed for Christians who are passionate about film, television and video, and who want to understand how to serve the Lord through the film industry, communications and multimedia. We welcome Christians over 17 years from any country, regardless of prior knowledge or experience of filmmaking. Students should have good speaking and writing skills in either Spanish or English. Language: Bilingual - Spanish and English. All classes, workshops and written material are translated into both languages. Duration: School 12 Weeks, Internship 11 weeks. After having done this school, the student will have at least five (5) short films to show in his or her portfolio. The purpose of the School of Filmmaking is that the school can be the first step in working as a professional in the international film industry. The film industry is a very demanding industry. Only those who have a strong interest, who are willing to work long hours and independently seek job opportunities, will survive in this industry. In the School of Filmmaking we want to train people to not only meet these requirements, but also to grow in their character and serving attitude and to have strong personal ethics. Previous work:
Admitted students will have to present an assignment to be submitted before the day of arrival. Once admitted to the school, the student will receive the assignment.
