Welcome to the team! 🌍
Nasrin, from Afghanistan, has joined Frontline Film School as a Youth Advisory Board Member. These young leaders are helping shape our 2026 programs — after a successful year filming three projects across Colombia and wrapping up on Samos Island, Greece, where we’ve been working with refugees from Sudan, Palestine, and Afghanistan in hands-on filmmaking workshops.

🎬 Meet Nasrin:
“I’m from Afghanistan. I crossed borders alone after my mother was killed while we tried to escape. Life there is hard for girls — you can’t choose your future. I left to be free.
Now I live in the Samos refugee camp. It’s not easy, but I feel hope. I dream of studying law in New York, maybe modeling, and making my father proud. More than anything, I want Afghan women to choose their own paths — to live freely, like I’m trying to.”

Nasrin will be joining our Frontline Film School workshops this November, alongside refugees from Palestine and Sudan, to develop their own stories and produce short films that inspire change. ✨

Shuʿfat Refugee Camp, founded in 1965, is the only Palestinian camp inside Jerusalem. Home to 20,000–80,000 people, it faces overcrowding and limited services behind the separation wall. The Palestinian Happy Child Centre, founded in 1994, empowers children through education, therapy, and rap workshops that turn their stories into powerful art. Frontline Film School visited the school to meet young voices in the new hip hop department of org.

Medellin, Colombia - Beneath the Bridge, Beyond the Struggle

Beneath the concrete overpasses of Medellín, a forgotten community fights to live with dignity. Under the Bridge takes viewers into Moravia—an invasion zone where families endure harsh conditions with unbreakable spirit.

Created by Frontline Film School in collaboration with Kind Footprint, this film is both a portrait of resilience and a call to see humanity where it is often overlooked. It honors the strength, creativity, and perseverance of those transforming hardship into hope, proving that even in the shadow of concrete, life finds a way to shine.

A Wave of Hope: Bringing Clean Water to Colombian Kids

🎬 Just wrapped production on a short film highlighting the urgent need for clean water on Tierra Bomba. In collaboration with Amigos Del Mar, we’re launching a fundraiser to bring an atmospheric water generator to the island.

Every contribution helps us transform air into water, providing a lifeline for children in need. Be a part of this unique solution to end their thirst.

We recently hosted a Zometool workshop with the incredible children of Tierra Bomba, thanks to a generous donation delivered all the way from Loveland, Colorado to Cartagena, Colombia. With curiosity and joy, the kids explored sculptures, shapes, and structures—building everything from triangles to molecules under the guidance of their instructor, Pedro. The foundation’s director also led a hands-on lesson on creating H2O molecules, blending art, science, and imagination. This gift will continue to grow—empowering children in underserved communities with access to creative, educational workshops in the future.

The Water Crisis in Tierra Bomba:

On the island of Tierra Bomba, Colombia, children grow up facing a daily struggle for clean water. Despite being surrounded by the Caribbean Sea, access to safe drinking water remains a critical challenge. The island lacks a reliable freshwater source, forcing families to rely on expensive and inconsistent water deliveries or collect rainwater when possible.

For the children of Tierra Bomba, this crisis is more than just an inconvenience—it affects their health, education, and future. Many spend their days searching for water instead of focusing on school and play. The lack of clean water increases the risk of illness, dehydration, and long-term developmental issues.

Frontline Film School, in collaboration with Amigos del Mar, is using the power of storytelling to raise awareness and take action. Through a short film, local youth document their own experiences, highlighting the urgent need for sustainable clean water solutions. Our goal is not only to share their voices but also to fund innovative water technologies, such as atmospheric water generators, to provide a lasting solution.

This is more than a film—it’s a call to action. Together, we can ensure that the children of Tierra Bomba have access to one of life’s most basic human rights: clean water.

Exciting Updates from Frontline Film School in Tierra Bomba!

We recently completed a series of filmmaking workshops for the children on the island Tierra Bomba, Colombia, a community facing severe water scarcity. Through hands-on training, we empowered young storytellers to share their experiences and raise awareness about this critical issue.

As part of our work, we are currently producing a fundraiser video for Amigos Del Mar, supporting efforts to provide clean water solutions to the island. Additionally, we are in production on “Agua Limpia,” a narrative short film directed by Jonathan Kloberdanz, highlighting the daily struggles of children in desperate need of access to clean water.

This project is a powerful reminder of the role storytelling plays in driving change. Stay tuned for updates, and if you’d like to support the cause, reach out!
