English Language Fellow - Colombia

I'm a bit behind in posting my English Language Fellow activities at the Bi-national Centers in Colombia called Centro Colombo Americano (CCA).

It was wonderful to do activities with the English Access MicroScholarship Program participants and teacher workshops with CCA English instructors and other teachers in the Pereira area!
The CCA in Pereira has a beautiful art display as well.

I'm a bit behind on posting on my ELF activities!
February was one of the best months ever so far!
The English Language Fellow Mid-Year Conference in Guadalajara started the month off right.

Best weekend in Colombia so far!
Learning English is a stepping stone out of poverty in many parts of the world. Fiona and I were honored to celebrate the accomplishments of vulnerable youth at the US English Access Microscholarship Program camp.

It was an exceptional experience to see the effects of what good programs in language empowerment can do for kids that have overcome tough experiences in life at such a young age.
This was a camp to be proud of.

What an inspiring international conference at the Escuela Nueva (New School) Foundation last week!
The Escuela Nueva started in Colombia, SA and has helped thousands of students and teachers in rural, war-torn, and other areas with vulnerable populations in 16 countries.
I was so excited to meet one of the primary founders, Vicky Colbert.
